I met 4 year old James for a photo shoot with his parents on Betty’s Bay beach over the weekend. I haven’t done a destination photoshoot in ages so this was such a lot of fun.

Kate contacted me months ago asking when I was travelling to Cape Town because she wanted to book a family shoot. Well, I said that I was planning on running the Cape Town marathon so we booked the shoot to coincide with my trip.

I’ve known Kate from following each others blogs for years. We met IRL donkeys years ago when I won a blogging award and travelled back to Joburg with the olive tree that was my prize! LOL! It was awesome to see her again and to meet her gorgeous son.

I met them at the house they were renting in Betty’s Bay for the weekend for a relaxed family shoot on the beach. This wasn’t the original plan for the shoot, but I love how it turned out!

We started the shoot digging in the sand, and ended with an ice cream… just a perfect day at the beach! Pity it was a little icy to start 🙂

I’ve driven through Betty’s Bay many times to get to family in Hermanus, and we’ve stopped there to see the penguin colony but this was the first time I’d been to the beach. What a gorgeous spot! I need to go there on holiday now.
