Heidi and Shaun’s beautiful picnic wedding happened yesterday at River Place Country Estate on the Hennops River outside Johannesburg.

I’ve been watching Heidi’s Pinterest boards for months to get an idea about what she was planning! In fact, I wasn’t the only one, because her pinboards were mentioned a few times in the speeches 🙂 It was awesome to see so many things in real life! I just loved her colour scheme… and of course all the scrabble boards… and the picnic… oh and the fairy lights… and… etc.  As a result, I’m really struggling to cut down on the images I want to blog about! LOL!

It was awesome being involved in this wedding. I’ve known them (well more Heidi really) for many years, so it was so special being asked to do her photos. I also knew so many guests from blogging and Twitter and other social media sites… and I’ve taken a few of the guests’ wedding photos too 😉 As a result, I got thoroughly involved in their wedding story.  I may have had tears at various times of the day. And I think it started with their first look!

A first look, for those who don’t know, is where the bride and groom meet up before the ceremony for a private time together (apart from the photographer of course). I stand far enough away not to hear their conversation, but even the expressions on their faces say a lot 😉 It worked out perfectly yesterday, and we managed to get all the couple photos done before the ceremony, so after the family photos were done, Heidi and Shaun went on a little walk together (without any photographers) and then it was time for the reception.

OK, enough with the gabbing, and on to the photos 😉

The jam, which was the guest’s take home gift, was gooseberry and ginger jam of course 😉

Heidi’s late mom was present the whole day too. Heidi had a photo of her in the room, and there was a locket on her bouquet that had a photo of her, Heidi and her sister Romy.

And then it was time for the first look 🙂

There are more photos on my Facebook page, and if you were a guest at the wedding you’ll be able to tag yourself in that album if you “like” the page.
