We had a big family Christmas like we usually do, but this year was slightly different because we spent Christmas Eve at my parent’s house with my brother’s family and then Christmas Day at my parent’s house without my brother’s family. LOL! Hope that makes some sense.
On Christmas Eve, Erin came to play for a bit at our house, and I used the opportunity to take a few photos of her for the family calendar for 2012…

And then it was time to go to my parent’s house…

And then it was Christmas morning, and surprisingly the kids only woke up at 6:30!! We had morning tea while opening Santa gifts…

And then it was breakfast time before heading for my parent’s again, for round 3 of opening gifts… where the clone suit from Elaine was the hit of the day…

And soon it was time to crack open the special champers…

And swim…

… and laze around…

And if you’re wondering what lenses I used… just my 50mm f1.4
I actually took these photos last week. I can’t remember when last I posted such “old” photos, in fact, that’s never happened on this blog, but I’ve been so insanely busy with my client work that I haven’t had a chance to even edit these
I was trying to get a “nice” photo for a Christmas card. I soon gave up that idea… and instead enjoyed capturing their silliness

And that’s all I’ve got to work with for my Christmas message… but I think it’s quite cool!
Today was all about playing with the toys that Father Christmas brought… and opening a few more in Parys when we visited Lance’s mom

Well, today is Boxing Day, and I was too tired last night to do my post. You see, I have got flu… yip… there’s NOTHING worse in this gorgeous weather than feeling sick.
Anyhoo, yesterday was the shizz! The kids woke us up at the crack of dawn to open gifts. And then it was a marathon day from then on… making food… picking up a colleague from India who joined our family for Christmas… going to my parents for lunch… and then more presents… and eating… and swimming… and more eating.
Pavi commented about how much food there was and how long we ate for
it’s a whole afternoon relaxed affair for our Christmas lunch!

Yes, the dogs got presents too

It was a scorcher of a day today… and much of it was spent in the pool.
At the moment, I’m listening to crickets and frogs in the neighbourhood gardens, and the kids are chomping at the bit, waiting for me to finish my blog post so they can carry on tracking Santa on the Norad site. Then it’s time to put cookies and milk out for Santa and his reindeer… and bedtime.

We’re set for a perfect African Christmas
