I did the most awesome maternity shoot today, that I can’t show you… but I can show you some of the textures that I got to play with.  This house was amazing with the most incredible indigenous garden that was more like an indigenous forest (so much fun for the little one when she gets crawling ;) ) with not a blade of kikuyu grass in sight.

And it wasn’t just the garden… there was a hammock in the house… what an awesome prop for a tummy photo with some sunflare and dappled light… it was a gorgeous gorgeous setting!

I just LOVE the sunsets at this time of year, and I was in the perfect spot in the traffic this afternoon to stop at the park where we take the dogs walking to get these photos.  And to top it off, I managed to get the cabbage tree silhouetted… and they’re my favourite indigenous tree that grows in the area.

I can’t wait for the “Day After” shoot I’m doing on Saturday in the veld :)

I met Celia for lunch today at the River Cafe in the Field and Study Centre in Sandton. I had no idea the place was so massive. It must be absolutely stunning in summer… i.e. I think I’ve found a new photo session spot. I can just imagine the gorgeous photos I can get next to the beautiful barks of massive trees!  It’s incredible that this peaceful place with a horse riding school and dog walking park etc etc is in the middle of suburbia!  Ooh and the lunch… it was well worth the hassle of leaving the office! I had a gorgonzola, bacon, rocket and tomato rye bread sandwich, it was absolutely enormous and so very yummy!

I tried to take a few shots of Celia and India against the trees, but India was just not interested at all…

I cannot wait to get a client that wants to have their photos taken there.

We went to visit Lance’s mom yesterday in Parys, so I yet again took my trusty camera :) I’ve decided to take photos of the houses in the town now (I’m running out of scenery options now), but could only get a shot of one typical Parys house this time as the other houses had pesky dwellers in residence.

And what’s a post about my Parys trip without the shots of the kids playing in the garden?  This time with their new skipping ropes.

I went to meet a family who live in a residential estate north of Johannesburg yesterday. I’m doing their family portraits in 2 weeks time in a park in the estate. While I was there, I took a walk around the park and took some photos. What a beautiful place, we’re going to have so much fun doing the portraits there. I can’t wait!
