The kids went to spend the day at Angelique and Jordan’s house today, and at the end of it, their mom took all 4 kids (madness I tell you) to the Chilli’ng Thyme Cafe at the Colourful Corner Nursery in Randpark Ridge. The kids love going there, because there’s a stunning play area next to the cafe (which serves the most awesome pizzas) and there’s a reptile pet shop too.
Anyhoo, I joined them for a cappuccino, and instead of taking photos of the kids again, I decided to take advantage of all the texture around me. I need to practice my detail shots for the weddings coming up next month!

I did the most awesome maternity shoot today, that I can’t show you… but I can show you some of the textures that I got to play with. This house was amazing with the most incredible indigenous garden that was more like an indigenous forest (so much fun for the little one when she gets crawling
) with not a blade of kikuyu grass in sight.

And it wasn’t just the garden… there was a hammock in the house… what an awesome prop for a tummy photo with some sunflare and dappled light… it was a gorgeous gorgeous setting!

I bought these garlic flower plants to plant around my rose bushes because I’d heard that they’re supposed to chase the aphids away with their smell. They are the most pongy flowers to have in a garden, especially after the rains… but their purple little flowers are just so pretty!
