I’ve been a bad daily photographer, and I’ve been far too busy to pick up my camera much this week, so I have to cheat and show you a photo from a few weeks ago. You haven’t seen this particular image yet, but I just love it! I took it during Gerda’s family shoot, and I love the light through the grass and the angle of her body and… just everything about this photo.

In other news, I’ve hopefully got some exciting news to tell you all in a few days about my photography workshop, and in addition, I’ve decided that my blog needs a revamp so I’m getting a new logo designed and I’ve been hunting for a new blog layout… busy busy busy!!
I do enjoy doing mom and daughter shoots, and this shoot was just so special. I met Gerda and her daughters, Bianca and Anya, at Delta Park this afternoon in the most perfect light for their photoshoot, and had some fun and laughs walking and running around the park.

Adam’s bar mitzvah is in February, and in anticipation of the event, I met the family today to take his portrait photos and the family photos. After chatting to his mom a few days ago, we decided to use the graffiti wall in Waverley as a backdrop for the photos.
Joining us for his portrait photos, were his brother and sister… and their cousins from Australia. I hope they all enjoyed it… as they ended up having some photos too

Stay tuned for his ceremony photos and celebration photos that will follow in a few weeks time
It’s Yaron’s barmitzvah next Saturday evening, and in anticipation of the event, I did his portrait photos today. I met the family at a stunning wall in Waverley that’s covered in graffiti. Graffiti is just the perfect setting for a teenager’s photos.
And because his sisters joined him for the shoot, I couldn’t resist taking photos of them too.
If you’ve been reading my blog for ages, you may actually recognise the family. I took photos of them in 2009 at Emmerentia. I haven’t seen the kids since then, and OMW they’ve all changed so much.

I LOVE going to batmitzvah’s and barmitzvah’s and Elliet’s batmitzvah today cemented that feeling. It was awesome!! It started at 10:30am and was held at the HOD in Orchards Johannesburg. I just love all the tradition and custom and ceremony that happens with these celebrations, and today’s was no exception. I love that every single batmitzvah I’ve been to has been slightly different. And I just loved that everyone danced with such gusto so early in the day!!

This was the first batmitzvah I’d been to, where the women and men were dancing seperately

I just love this little moment that I captured

LOL, and this one is my favourite from the whole event

The food, supplied by Gary Friedman, was just magnificent!

Elliet’s grandfather blew the shofar.

This made me smile… guess what they’re singing? Waka Waka of course ![]()
