236/365 – Canvas

One of my clients asked me to print 3 20×20 canvases using photos I’d taken of her family, so I used the opportunity to also print a canvas for my house!! It’s about time I printed my own photos:)  I used a photo that took of Connor at the beginning of 2009, and had a 50cm by 60cm canvas printed and stretched. The photo doesn’t actually do the size of the canvas justice, but it’s rather large.

He loves that the canvas is on the wall and it’s so big:)and mentioned it every time he walked down or up the stairs over the weekend.  LOL! I want to get another 3 done in the same size to make a feature wall… it’s a LARGE wall with a double volume ceiling so there’s more than enough space.

he must be so pleased that “his” canvas is up!!
our canvasses with the photos you took of us are one (or rather 3) of my favourite things in my house!!

It’s gorgeous. I also had a canvas done for us recently, was going to blog it today but school got in the way :)

An album for Kutloano

Remember the maternity shoot I did for Lerato a few months ago, and then Kutloano’s newborn shoot?  Well, the family decided not to take the prints as part of the bump to babe package, and instead had a book printed with photos from both photoshoots.

I was finally able to collect it today and I’m thrilled with it! It’s a 30 page (60 side) A4 landscape classic book with printed cover, and it’s in a black linen box.  As you can see, the pages open flush because of the paper/board used.  Lerato wanted the first half of the book to contain photos from her maternity shoot, and the rest of the book has the newborn photos (with some special words from mom and dad to Kutloano on some pages too).  In fact, I’m so thrilled with it, that I think I’m going to get another one printed for my portfolio.

Just to add – … and really beautifully presented!

Oh my word – just stunning!!

Natalie G - July 9, 2010 - 9:06 pm

Good job, my talented photographer friend! I think photo books are so much better than prints, unless you’re specifically framing the prints.

Sharon (60 comments.) - July 9, 2010 - 9:00 pm

Wow Jeanette this is stunning!

101/365 – A couple of canvasses

Yolanda ordered quite a few canvasses from me as gifts for her family as they’re emigrating in a couple of months time; and before I delivered them this evening, I took them out of their wrapping to check them (and of course to use them for my daily photo)… I just love how the canvas just transforms a photo!

84/365 – New photo boxes have arrived

I’m finally getting organised.  A few weeks ago I got referred to a local box company for boxes to package my photos and DVD’s in.  I bought some plain black and silver boxes off the shelf; but while I was there, I decided to order boxes in the same kind of green and a similar design as my blog and logo.

So… drumroll… clients from today onwards will receive their photos and/or DVD’s in a pale green filigree box with silver mesh ribbon, and layered with pale green tissue paper:)and my corporate clients will be receiving their photos in the more subdued black boxes with green ribbon and green tissue;)

I think they’re pretty, don’t you?

The best part about the boxes, is that they’re pretty strong and can take the postal service… I’ve already sent clients orders, via the post, packaged in these boxes and they arrived undamaged.

Very pretty. Our wedding photo’s 43 years ago came in a lovely white and silver embossed box. The concept of pretty boxes ‘lives on’. And the box has stood the test of time!!!!

82/365 – New Mini Moos

My new mini Moo cards arrived today in the post!! Yay!!

I decided to get them again, and not get the normal run of the mill business cards that everyone else gets locally.   And they’re so worth it.  The package really didn’t take long to get here either, I placed the order at the beginning of the month… not bad considering they get sent from the UK!

Because the packaging is so very cool, I had to show you that too, and not just my cool cards!

I ordered 300 mini-Moo cards, and another bright pink cardholder/keyring.  Each pack of 100 cards contains 100 unique images (my images) on the one side, and my logo with blurb on the back.  Cool hey?!

If you’re wondering how it’s done… I loaded all the images onto Flickr in the correct size, and then linked a Flickr Set to my Moo order… and that’s all!  I love that it’s hassle free and the quality is phenomenal!
