Lee-Anne contacted me months ago to book her maternity photoshoot, and I met up with her and her husband Dave, this afternoon at Delta Park in Johannesburg.  Lee-Anne is 34 weeks pregnant, and it was perfect timing for a maternity shoot.  She’d found me via Facebook after I’d done a photoshoot for a friend of hers, Gerda.  The funny thing is… I discovered on Facebook this morning, that her and Dave are actually friends with my sister Elaine too!! Such a small world!

Anyhoo, what an awesome couple! I had such a lovely time with them in the park this afternoon, and they willingly traipsed to various spots as I changed my mind a few times about where the best places were today.  I LOVE what we did in the end.

This was so sweet, as soon as they started holding the scan image from their very first scan, Lee-Anne and Dave started talking about how they’d found out they were pregnant :)

I wish them all the very best for the rest of the pregnancy, and for the birth of baby Jack.

There are a few more in an album on Facebook too

Beatrice is almost 38 weeks pregnant, and will be having baby Martin (the 6th generation of Martin in the family) this week!! Yes, we cut it a bit fine with this maternity photoshoot but I’m so glad we managed to meet up at Walter Sisulu Gardens in the end to do this shoot this afternoon.  Although, silly me forgot to check whether there were any concerts, so we had to avoid the Zebra & Giraffe concert to get our shots.  Thankfully though, the gardens are huge, and my favourite little spots were just waiting for us.  We were also incredibly lucky with the weather, and although it was overcast when we started, the sun shone at it’s best when we got to the veld area.

I tell you, Beatrice and Martin (new dad) were amazing.  You’d never say that Beatrice was 37 weeks pregnant if you’d watched her speed walking around the gardens!!  And I loved that they were willing to navigate through the thorns in the veld until I was happy with where they were placed ;)

I met Zoe and Shaun at Delta Park in the late afternoon today to do Zoe’s maternity shoot.  It was actually the furthest anyone has ever travelled to have a photoshoot with me.  I’m extremely flattered that they drove all the way from Bloemfontein (it’s about a 4 hour drive) for their photoshoot because they wanted ME to do the photos… no-one else!! How cool is that?! And then when we finished the shoot, they were driving to Durban for the weekend!!

So, after all that, imagine how upset I was getting when I drove through rain to get to the park, and then it started drizzling when I got there!! It wasn’t a good sign… but thankfully it stopped and the rain stayed away for long enough for us to complete the shoot.

And OMW, what a shoot it was!! Zoe didn’t want open grassland/veld in her photos, but when I spotted the field filled with cosmos, I was ecstatic when she said that that wasn’t the grassland she meant… because I’ve been dying to do a shoot in the late afternoon in cosmos… it was JUST PERFECT!

And then we found the field of cosmos flowers and the sun was just in the right spot…

I met Shaloshnee and Shalen at the Emmerentia Rose Gardens in Johannesburg today for their maternity shoot. Shaloshnee is 36 weeks pregnant and is glowing.  She loves being pregnant and wanted the shoot to remind her of this special time in their lives.

Nico and Victoire know me from Twitter, and contacted me a few weeks ago to book their maternity shoot.  We only finally decided on a location earlier this week, and thankfully the weather was perfect for our afternoon at the Johannesburg Zoo.  We could not have postponed it because Victoire is due in 3 weeks time!

They wanted a fun photoshoot at the zoo, partly because the theme in their baby son’s bedroom is animals.  It was such an awesome location actually, and I was thrilled when the giraffes played along with my plan :)

We couldn’t resist using this sign that we found lying on the pathway :)

Don’t you just love this photo?  Looks like the giraffe is bringing gifts for the baby

A bump? In the road? It’s symmetry!

I had a ball with this awesomely fun couple, and I wish them all the best for the birth.  You’ll be seeing more of them in a few weeks… when their baby is born :)
