I didn’t only take photos of Fiona at the old car when we did her maternity shoot on Sunday.  And these photos are perfect for this week’s Metal photohunt (I haven’t taken part in photohunt for a few weeks).

It’s been a scorcher of a day today, so the kids spent most of the day in the pool.  They had a ball because Marlise came over for lunch with her kids as well, so they had friends to play with.

It was Bradley’s school concert this morning, and what a mess with the tickets!  We had tickets for seats near the back of the hall, only to discover that we’d been double-booked.  Not a nice thing to tell me when I’m planning on watching my son in a concert!  It turned out, that a whole load of seats had been double booked.  And that ended up being the best thing that happened because we eventually got seats close to the front… and the VIEW of the stage was just perfect for me and my camera!!

I took the boys to the Walter Sisulu gardens this afternoon to see if I could find the open veld (grassland) area to do a couple’s photoshoot.   The veld is so beautiful at the moment, with all the green shoots coming out of the burnt areas but we desperately need rain to make everything green.  We found this dirt track when we followed the pathway to the dam (and in the process found the perfect spot for the shoot!), and I thought it would be perfect to showcase a typically African scene for today’s theme of “Road”.

The reference to today’s theme of “Wild“, is that Strelitzia Reginae’s are indigenous to South Africa, and grow wild in some parts of our country.

This plant is in my mom’s garden, and this week it had the most magnificent double flower!  I’ve never seen a Strelitzia bloom with a double blue stamen. Isn’t it beautiful?
