We went to Parys yesterday to visit MIL. Connor on his tummy using the skateboard warranted a few photos… wish our road was quiet like this.

This was after Bradley threw a bit of a wobbly because he couldn’t figure out how to skate on it. I really need to take him for lessons… I have no clue how to use one of them so there’s no way I can teach him.

A day off work, and no photo clients… we needed to visit MIL. I know, I know, the last time we went to Parys we said we would start exploring the place… but it didn’t happen this time… next time I promise!! So, more photos from Oom Hennie’s garden.

We went to Parys today to visit MIL, and of course I took my camera. I haven’t taken photos of Oom Drik’s garden in ages, especially his veggies, so I thought it was a good prospect for today’s 365 set.

On our way out of town we went another route, and we’ve decided that next time we’re going to make a proper day of it and start exploring properly.

We went to visit Lance’s mom yesterday in Parys, so I yet again took my trusty camera
I’ve decided to take photos of the houses in the town now (I’m running out of scenery options now), but could only get a shot of one typical Parys house this time as the other houses had pesky dwellers in residence.

And what’s a post about my Parys trip without the shots of the kids playing in the garden? This time with their new skipping ropes.

… and a scene from our road trip…

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we drove to Parys on Sunday to visit MIL. And what would a trip to Parys be without some photos of the dry Freestate landscape taken through the window of the car as we’re whizzing on the highway
You might wonder why we never stop. Partly because we just want to get there and then home again, and partly because of the boys. If Lance had to stop the car and I had to get out, we’d have 2 boys whining and crying that they also want to get out… and then it’ll take half an hour per stop instead of 5 minutes. So I take the photos at high speed instead and thereby testing my fast shutter speed abilities
But you’ll be excited to hear, Lance has agreed to go on a photo drive this coming Sunday! Woohoo! That’s a first! Hopefully I’ll find new ruins and gorgeous winter coloured landscapes to take photos of. And we’ll actually be able to stop because we won’t be in a hurry!

We saw so many veld fires (grass fires) on the road, that I had to try and capture one of them. The air was very smoky as we drove into Johannesburg again.

Hehe, and this post all about landscapes is just after my interview on Nerdmag explains how this is my least favourite type of photography
