Lineo and Tumi got a voucher for a lifestyle shoot with me from Lineo’s colleagues as a gift at the end of her pregnancy. After a bit of a shambles on my part, I finally got to their house in Pretoria today for their photoshoot. Little Moeletsi is such a little cutie!!
I loved that he’s still got his newborn skin that’s still flaking on his body
he’s such a new little soul.

Martin was born 16 days ago, and is the 6th generation Martin in the family!! I went to Beatrice and Martin’s (the dad) house this morning to take photos of Martin. You may remember them from their maternity shoot a few weeks ago.
Isn’t his hair gorgeous? And he was so very good, he was sleeping when I got there and we managed to keep him sleeping for quite a while before our luck ran out. And I’m just LOVING the close-up photos I’m getting with my macro lens now.

I got a yawn!! I’m thrilled! Everytime he yawned before this shot, I was holding him or trying to move him into position so it was impossible to get a shot.

I went to Saloshnee and Shalen’s house in Crowthorne today to take photos of their gorgeous 2 month old son Shaihir. You may recognise Saloshnee from her maternity photos that I took a few months ago at Emmerentia. Well, they are such awesome parents now, and it was so sweet watching Shalen hold his son… his face lit up immediately.
Because Shaihir is 2 months old, I didn’t even try to get him to sleep, so we had a shoot full of wide eyes
I just loved his eyes!!

His feet in mom’s hands…

… and his hand in dad’s hands…

Saloshnee contacted me a few days ago and asked me to also take a few photos of their family because her mom had travelled from Durban for the weekend, so we ended the shoot with the full family having photos taken in their garden.

Remember Zoe and Shaun that drove from Bloemfontein to do their maternity shoot a few months ago? Well, they were in Johannesburg for a wedding this weekend and came to have their baby shoot on Sunday afternoon, before driving back home to Bloemfontein.
Isn’t Michaela gorgeous? I LOVE her blue eyes and all the hair she has!!
Zoe didn’t want to do my usual “studio” photos against a black backdrop, which suited me perfectly, because I’m thinking that the studio look is not something I want to do anymore for babies. Instead we went into the garden and did their family photos there, before getting her to pose without clothes.

Arnan was 14 days old today, and I went to his parent’s house north of Johannesburg for his newborn photoshoot this morning.
The title of this post was a toss up between the way that I usually title my baby blog posts, and using the email heading used by Nico whenever he emailed me about the shoot… “Flashing the Olwagen Babe”. Hehe, love it!
You may recognise Arnan’s gorgeous mom and dad, Nico and Victoire, from their maternity shoot I shot a while ago at the Johannesburg Zoo.
He was a dream to photograph, and I could have spent many more hours there just getting more… he was so good! Once Victoire got him to sleep while I set up and chatted to Nico, he just slept… he didn’t budge. He only started niggling again when we were ending the portraits against the black. I was most impressed, because he is past the magic 10 day mark!
Because he was sleeping so nicely, we started off the shoot using the piano… how cool!! And the blanket he’s lying on is a special one… it was knitted by his great grandmother who knitted all her grandchildren baby blankets before she died and it’s been lying in storage waiting.

I just have to say that this pose… totally natural… how adorable?!

And check his long long eyelashes out!!
