An album for Kutloano

Remember the maternity shoot I did for Lerato a few months ago, and then Kutloano’s newborn shoot?  Well, the family decided not to take the prints as part of the bump to babe package, and instead had a book printed with photos from both photoshoots.

I was finally able to collect it today and I’m thrilled with it! It’s a 30 page (60 side) A4 landscape classic book with printed cover, and it’s in a black linen box.  As you can see, the pages open flush because of the paper/board used.  Lerato wanted the first half of the book to contain photos from her maternity shoot, and the rest of the book has the newborn photos (with some special words from mom and dad to Kutloano on some pages too).  In fact, I’m so thrilled with it, that I think I’m going to get another one printed for my portfolio.

Oh my word – just stunning!!

Good job, my talented photographer friend! I think photo books are so much better than prints, unless you’re specifically framing the prints.

Wow Jeanette this is stunning!

Baby Isabella is 10 days old

Even though today was a warm winter’s day, we still had to have the heaters on high when I went to take photos of Isabella at the family home in Inanda, Sandton.  She’s such a little cutie with such very delicate features and long feet:)

Because of the cold weather, there are more photos with her wrapped up than I usually do for a newborn shoot, but it works… she is a winter baby after all.  And I loved playing with all the blankets in the house, and the textures on the walls!  In fact, that brown blanket was just the ticket to make her blue eyes really stand out!!

I’ve also put one or two more photos on an album on my Facebook page

Wow. The pic of the gorgeous girl with her parents hands are my favourite… sometimes people don’t know about me, I love hand photography. I think it says so much.

It was wonderful seeing you today. I hope you had an awesome birthday and always remember that I loves you big.

Oh Jen those are exquisite!!! The third one…breathtaking!!!

Baby Rhys is 9 weeks old

Rhys’s mom, Jacqui, contacted me earlier this week after seeing the photos from the baptism last week and fortunately I was available today, so we did a photoshoot at their house in Bryanston.  Even though Rhys is 9 weeks old, and newborn shoots are normally done so much earlier; I was so pleasantly surprised with how the shoot went.  Rhys was a dream, and only got ratty after nearly 2 hours; which wasn’t surprising considering the number of poses he was doing for us:)He was a champ though, and I’m very happy with the way the photos turned out.

I just loved using all the soft toys in the bedroom, and was very happy when Reece was happy enough to play along with my little game with him amongst the piles of soft toys.

We gave him a bit of a rest and he played a little on his playgym…

…before starting again…

I was thrilled when Jacqui suggested using the garden… it’s not often that I get to play outside with a tiny baby and thankfully it was quite warm today

Introducing Isabella

Isabella is 10 days old today; and she was the star of her first photoshoot at her home with her parents, Gary and Bronwyn, in Randburg this morning.

Jessica and Gary had bought Isabella’s parents one of my vouchers for a maternity or newborn photoshoot as part of their babyshower gift.   And Jessica even came along to check out the shoot… and moaned a lot about the temperature in the room;)

We had the heater on for the shoot today.  It was a really cold and miserably wet day today, and as you can see Isabella wasn’t required to have many clothes for her photographic debut… so heat is what was needed… and their bedroom was really warm and toasty.

How cute is this little one? She’s got the BIGGEST blue eyes ever, and such a beautiful head of hair!

I took a photo of this beautiful chair in her room, because it belonged to her great grandmother, and her granny made embroidered the cat cushions

And not only the cushions… but also this kitty blanket!

And now, we’re going on holiday for a couple of days, so if you send me emails, I will take a while to get back to you!   See you all when I get back

cat@juggling act (187 comments.) - April 12, 2010 - 11:42 am

Oh she is beautiful. Little man L also had a stork’s bite like her’s – now invisible, apart from when he is sick.

Aaaawww… I can’t get over the babies born with so much hair these days!

Introducing Kutloano

Remember Lerato’s maternity shoot that I did a few weeks ago?  Well, Lerato and Tsepo’s beautiful son, Kutloano, was born on 20 March and he was 15 days old today.

I went to Phiri in Soweto this morning to do his newborn shoot at his granny’s house.   In accordance with tradition, Lerato and Kutloano are staying with granny for the first month (which is why the photos weren’t done at their home where the maternity shoot was done).  I was actually honoured that Lerato’s mom let me do the shoot, because it’s apparently not the done thing for another woman to visit the house during that time.
