Sharon contacted me a few weeks ago, asking me to take photos of her and Leon and Josh. They got engaged recently, and wanted photos of them as a family. I jumped at the chance, knowing how impossible it is to get photos of your own family, when you’re a photographer and always behind the lens!
They wanted the photos taken at Leon’s Golf Club in Badplaas, so we (I took Lance and the boys with me) went there for the night.
The original idea was that the photoshoot was to be done just before sunset on Friday night… and I was looking forward to playing with sunflare and golden light… but that wasn’t to be. It rained, and rained and rained… the whole day and the whole night.
Thankfully, the rain cleared up in the morning and it was a GORGEOUS day. We had a very late start to the shoot as Leon had to mow the greens before we could start, but it was all good. It was also a very different type of photoshoot for me with the backdrop of the beautiful Dhlumudhlumu mountains, and having to manouvre around the golfers and their carts
It was fun, and such a beautiful spot, I can see why the place is so special to them and why they wanted the photos done there!

Sharon and Leon, thanks very much for asking me to do the photos, and for your hospitality this weekend; we all had an awesome time. In fact, Bradley was very sad tonight when he went to bed, because he’s missing his new friends… and the kittens![]()
