It’s my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary at the beginning of next month, and to start the celebrations, I did a photoshoot for them yesterday. We were originally going to go to Walter Sisulu gardens for the shoot, but after seeing the forest I used in Mari’s shoot a few weeks ago, my mom asked to have their shoot done at the same place… so we went to Delta Park for the afternoon.

I wanted to take photos of them on a bench… and I spotted this one. It just happened to be up an enormous hill… LOL! We were pooped by the time we got there. And when we drove out, we noticed so many other benches that were much closer
serves me right for not checking properly first

It was really awesome taking photos of them

Strange title, I know, but that’s what he was doing. Connor was singing Puff the Magic Dragon to the sky and the trees.

He was actually wanting me to take a video of him singing, but I haven’t figured out the video on the 5D yet… so my mom video’d him on her point and shoot (and I’m hoping she’s going to put it up on Youtube for me to link to
)
He just loves watching videos of himself

I used to rush when I got to my parents in the evenings. I used to just pick the kids up and get going to the shops and then home to make supper etc.
But, a few months ago that changed, and now it’s a slower process (I think it had to do with me having to take a photo when I got there while I was doing my 365 Project last year). I normally stay for a cup of tea while the kids play for a little longer… and then I go.
This afternoon wasn’t any different, except my sister came home to collect a few more things for her new flat (she’s moved out of home)… so the 3 of us had a cup of tea and a chat on the patio… I don’t actually remember when last that happened with just the 3 of us.

Connor was very happy when Granny got back home after they took a short trip to Cape Town.

My mom graciously let me take her photos today… my sister was my first target but she was in a bad mood because of her car that had come back from the panelbeaters… so my mom saved the day. I never actually get to take photos of her on her own… she is convinced that she isn’t photogenic, and was telling me that over and over again while I took the photos… ja right! Once she stopped laughing at me, I think I got the shots I was wanting
