Oh I do love it when clients are fun and adventurous!! And this family has it in spades!!
Desere booked this photoshoot a few months ago and she was very specific about going to Newtown. She wanted the urban vibe and mentioned using the graffiti walls… I was thrilled.
I had an absolute ball with this shoot… partly because I got to take photos where I’d been dreaming of going for ages… in the old Park station next to the Mandela bridge! Travis mentioned while we were at the graffiti walls that he’s always wanted to go into the station and he’d really love to have there photos done there, and I warned them that I didn’t think we’d be able to get in. Every time I’d tried before, it was barricaded or swarming with security who’d turned me away. Not this time though… the gate were open and even though we were being watched by police on the bridge (who were at a film set that was set up on the bridge), we had free reign
And it was SO SO SO worth the effort

He was stretching his dragon wings… because he had a dragon hair style ![]()

LOL he was so cute here… trying to copy the expression of this “sad” man. He couldn’t quite get the winking, so used his hand. The reason his hand is on the floor is because he thought that’s where the claw would go

Mari works with me, and over a year ago said that she wanted to book a shoot with her husband as soon as her braces were removed. So a few days after they were removed, she did just that, and today’s photoshoot was the result. I met them at Delta Park this afternoon, and took them to a spot in a forest that I noticed during my last family photoshoot there. LOVE that my clients will walk up steep hills and across marshy land to get to spots that I think will work

And while you’re here, don’t forget to vote for my blog in the SA Blog Awards ![]()

I met Tania and her family at Delta Park this afternoon for their long-awaited photoshoot. Long-awaited because Tania first contacted me in May, and her shoot kept getting postponed because of illnesses… so I was very happy when the weather played along with our plans today and we had an awesome photoshoot!
Their son, 2 and half year old Alessio (don’t you just LOVE the name? I LOVE the way it sounds), is so very cute and has the most gorgeous eyes and curly hair. They were such an awesome family to take photos of.
I must remember for the next shoot at Delta Park with little ones, not to start under the trees though, because he was completely distracted by the swings and slides!! But I got what I was looking for

I was thrilled to see that the graffiti had changed… and I found this little hole in the wall… just perfect for little beings

and there are even more on my Facebook page…

I first realised that Mandy (an ex-colleague) was selling clothes from home when she had a pop-up shop organised one day at work. She then contacted me when she had a pop-up shop in Bryanston with another retailer selling kids clothes… and of course I went again. I just LOVE the clothes she sells. I was delighted when she asked me to organise a fashion shoot showing her summer range from Tashkaya and Slick. I quickly sent a Whatsapp message to my sister, Elaine, and viola… a fashion shoot with her and her friends who had been dying to have a shoot together like we’d done a few years ago.
We all met very early this morning in Newtown to take some fun photos wearing the clothes against the contrast of the old buildings and graffiti.

Isn’t Candice’s blue dress from Tashkaya cool? I have one in purple… and LOVE wearing it with leggings.

Well, that was huge amounts of fun
and it was my very first fashion shoot!!

This afternoon’s photoshoot at Delta Park in Johannesburg was quite special. It’s not often that 2 families get together for a photoshoot so that their son, Josh, can have photos of himself with his 4 siblings across both respective families… and with all his parents. You’ll probably recognise the one family from previous shoots… I’ve done a few photoshoots with Leigh-Ann and Barend from Tranquil Body Treats.
It wasn’t a walk in the park actually, with 1 year old Logan being ill, and 3 year old Matt who had just woken up… but we got there in the end, and I think we got some really special photos

I love the way that Abigail’s hair was blowing in the wind

Aww, how cute is little Ella

Cool dude, Josh, with his skateboard… it was the perfect prop for the setting!

This was too funny, when Abigail and Logan were checking Ella out

Logan was so very sad today, she wasn’t feeling very well at all, and I just had to capture her face while she was hugging her blanket

Doing cool tricks with his big brother eventually got Matt to smile
