I flew to Zimbabwe last week to second shoot with Alana Meyer at this most incredibly beautiful wedding.   Edward Rainsford is a Zimbabwean cricketer and he got married on Friday to the beautiful Tashinga in such a beautiful and emotional wedding at Bushman Rock Estate just outside Ruwe in Zimbabwe.  It was such a privilege being there.

Everything about the wedding was perfect.  The decor and flowers were incredible and so much time had gone into the design and gathering of all the elements, and it all just worked so well… it was truly magnificent.  From the open air thatch chapel at the lodge which was draped in white to the amazing decor at the winery where the reception was held (and not to mention the mini picnic that was waiting for us where we did the couple photos), all the details were absolutely incredible.

I loved the way Ed’s love of cricket was brought into the detail… from the table names which were cricket terms, to the guest seating chart which looked like a cricket score board and the table layouts on it that were tiny cricket bats.  And I’m sure those detail weren’t lost on all the Zimbabwean and international cricketers that attended.

The wedding wasn’t only amazing because of all the gorgeous detail, but their friends and family are such amazing people and they were surrounded by such love.   Tashinga and Ed met at church a number of years ago, so the ceremony was even more special because so many of the people (including the pastors and the choir) came from the Celebration Church that they attend. I don’t think I’ve ever been at a more emotional ceremony actually, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the chapel.  I had tears streaming down my face at one point and had to compose myself behind a pillar before carrying on with the photos.

Love this photo of Ed trying to compose himself before Tash walked down the aisle

Tash’s sister sang the most amazing song during the ceremony which was very emotional

… then it was party time…

Ed’s godfather, cricket coach Phil Simmons, said one of the speeches.

Oh how I LOVE father and daughter dances!

And then the wedding party got changed into party clothes…  I just LOVED Tashinga’s new dress!

And check out Tashinga’s granny jiving!! How cool is she?!

It was such a special wedding, and such a privilege to be a part of it.

I have also loaded more images onto an album on my Facebook page.  If you were at the wedding, you can tag yourself if you “like” the page.

I’ve had a run of corporate events recently, and last night I took the photos at the Liberty Libridge awards dinner that was held at Hazeldene Hall in Johannesburg.  What a beautiful venue, I loved all the old details!! It was an awesome event, and it’s always so fantastic to see people being rewarded and openly recognised for their hard work.

Yet again, I’m only showing you the decor and entertainment from the event though ;)

Venue: Hazeldene Hall
Catering: By Word of Mouth
Entertainment: Ivan Batchvarov Alto Sax (my oath he was fantastic!!)

And then it was time for some laughter, Joey Rasdien was brilliant!

I took the photos at the Lenovo Annual awards ceremony that was held at Madam Zingara in Melrose Arch yesterday evening.  I’m not going to show many photos of the awards, but rather, what I was allowed to take of the Madam Zingara experience.

It was simply awesome.  The decor was fabulous, acts were incredible, the food sublime (especially the chocolate chilli sauce on the fillet)… and the staff and management of Madam Zingara were simply awesome.  All round, it’s something you should try and experience if you haven’t done so already.

The brief was explicit… we were not allowed to take photos of the show, only at the breaks. Half way through the evening though, I had a chat to the manager, and he allowed me to take photos of the crowd watching the show, as long as I didn’t use flash and I wasn’t allowed to take any photos of any of the acts. How lucky am I? I was thrilled because the light falling on the front rows of people’s faces was just perfect for flashless photography.

Yaron had his long awaited Bar Mitzvah celebration last night at the Capri Hotel in Savoy,Johannesburg… and I was there to take the photos.  I LOVE mitzvahs… I love the dancing, I love the traditions and I love the fun… and last night was no exception.

First though, I joined the family at the Shul on Friday evening for a few photos (because I can’t attend the actual barmitzvah itself)

… and now for the party photos…

Remember the portrait shoot I did with Yaron a while ago… well I had a book made with some of the photos for the guests to sign.

Mazel tov to Yaron and his family!  I had a fabulous time, thanks for asking me to being a part of your special celebration.

PS. I’ve put a few more photos in an album on my Facebook Page
