I’ve fallen deeply in love with my 50mm f1.4 again… not only did I do the entire boudoir workshop with it last week, and the boudoir shoot on Sunday (seriously the entire shoot with one lens)… but aren’t these photos just dreamy?

I didn’t have a photoshoot this weekend!! It’s the last free weekend I have until March, so I just vegged… and spent time with the kids. This morning we went to Walkhaven to walk the dogs, and used my new wellies to squelch through the marshy bits, and I so regretted not taking my camera and macro lens because the veld was just beautiful!

Anyhoo, after a stinking hot morning, we had a massive thunderstorm this afternoon, and Connor got hold of my wellies to have some fun in a muddy puddle :)

I took the opportunity to test the review camera I have at the moment.  These photos were take with a Sony SLT A77 DSLR with 50mm f1.4 lens. Man, the camera is fast compared to my 5D mkII!! It would be awesome as a sports camera.

A few weeks ago, one of the mom’s in Bradley’s year asked me to take photos at their Grade 2 year end party.  Thankfully it only entailed taking photos during the drumming session that was organised, so I could take a few hours off work and attend.  It’s not often that I get involved with school things, and it was about time I did something.

What a fun morning for the kids.  The Drum Cafe came to the school with 110 drums… just enough for every child in the year to have a drum to play with.  And OMW what incredible music they made.  They got into the rhythm so very quickly (compared to the work drumming session I did years ago where it took quite a while for everyone to start drumming in time)

Because I don’t have permission from most parents, I’m only showing you a few images of Bradley and the friends that I know won’t have a problem with their images being online. I’m also using this post to try out my new MCPActions presets ;)

If you’re one of the Grade 2 moms and you’re trying to find the rest of the images, they’ll be put into a password protected online gallery for you to download in a few days time.

I met Tania and her family at Delta Park this afternoon for their long-awaited photoshoot. Long-awaited because Tania first contacted me in May, and her shoot kept getting postponed because of illnesses… so I was very happy when the weather played along with our plans today and we had an awesome photoshoot!

Their son, 2 and half year old Alessio (don’t you just LOVE the name? I LOVE the way it sounds), is so very cute and has the most gorgeous eyes and curly hair. They were such an awesome family to take photos of.

I must remember for the next shoot at Delta Park with little ones, not to start under the trees though, because he was completely distracted by the swings and slides!! But I got what I was looking for :)

I was thrilled to see that the graffiti had changed… and I found this little hole in the wall… just perfect for little beings :)

and there are even more on my Facebook page:)

Aasia is turning 30 this week, and in celebration she booked a photoshoot for herself and some friends.  This wasn’t just any ordinary shoot either, she had specific ideas… the theme was “ballerina’s gone bad” and each person had to get dressed in a tutu.  This shoot was such a lot of fun! We not only had 5 ballerinas but we also had a holy man of sorts.

Aasia organised the Circle Bar at Crowne Plaza hotel as the venue for the shoot, which was a challenge of note because of the lack of any ambient light.  All the inside shots were done with OCF using 2 flashes.  And then we managed to find a bare wall outside which we used for the end of the shoot, and we were all quite thankful to get into the fresh air in the end.

Don’t you love the socks that Nafisa wore?

Just loved Denielle’s lips which were covered in hundreds and thousands

Zahira even got her shirt ripped for the occasion

And Kellen’s tights were too cool, and I loved the purple tutu

LOL and check out John’s outfit :)

Aasia said she could only do funny photos… she couldn’t do hot… hmm think I proved her wrong :)

Hope they had as much fun as I did.
