I’m tired of winter, and so are the kids. This has to be the freakiest looking photo I’ve taken in ages… but it kinda matches my very odd mood today.

Oh yes, come on summer, come on! (Sounding like an old cricket ad here)
Great shot. Only you would think of this.
Ah. I love your blog design. That picture is freaky in a way. Totally cool, too.
HEEHEE – love it!
It was my dad’s 60th birthday today and the family and some friends joined him at my parent’s home for an afternoon of food and fun to celebrate. So, actually, this was my 67 minutes… because the family hardly ever gets together like this. I’ll do a charitable 67 minutes another day![]()

My brother Carl (of the medical poetry fame) taking his nut very seriously![]()

Terry who is visiting from Columbia at the moment
Bacon wrapped cherries braaiing on my dad’s new Weber
… and my dad’s cousin Dave and his wife (who live in Zimbabwe)
This was too funny, she would shut her eyes every time the ball came close to her

Because Terry was around, my mom had to make her famous chocolate eclairs for dessert![]()

Connor was the “Bafama Bafama” goalie for the day

Connor was trying to work out the numbers, and eventually decided that dad was 16!! He was delighted![]()

It was an awesome day with my family![]()
Happy 60th Birthday Dad!

Park photos again… this time I was very excited to find a sign of spring!! The protea tree I was taking a photo of, had new purple leaves![]()
And it was such a beautiful sight to see, especially after walking in the icy icy icy cold weather!

I love looking at your pics, and feeling like I’m almost there with you. I wish I was…I’d love to take pictures right along with you. It would be so fun.
I haven’t lost interest… even though I didn’t take this photo today (no time)… it’s one of my favourites from the wedding on Saturday. I just thought that the title was apt for this photo

love the simplicity in this…it is stunning.
LOVE this image!
Very unusual and well spotted. I like this.
Oh this one is beautiful!
I like it !
Gorgeous pic! Could so be used as a greeting card…
This is nogal a cute pic.
I took the kids and dogs for a walk in the park again this evening, and decided to capture stuff other than the dogs (which are getting a little boring). It sure was a challenge though, and most were taken with both dogs on lead in one hand and camera in the other (there were new dogs in the park that I wasn’t sure about so our huskies didn’t get to run free very much tonight)… and the rest taken while carrying Connor as he was exhausted after a day of playing at a friends house.

love%20the%20close%20ups!%20%20great%20job
love the close ups! great job
When I first saw the barbed wire I thought it was a flower or a weed, awesome shot!
@Emma… thanks
I hardly use PS anymore, these were all done in Lightroom. All these were edited (apart from the last one which is virtually SOOC) using a Green Vintage preset from Christine Meintjies
Holy-Moly Jeanette (I could use other words, but I would rather not) these are gorgeous! Love the 3rd picture and the sunset!
I really like that brown/dead/dried flower.
Some good photo’s with amazing colour tones and techniques. You have an eye for unusual subjects!
You have such an fantastic eye for detail.
Oh my – that sunset IS gorgeous!!
All photos are lovely .. I remember Granny used to pick those dead proteas (from that same park!) and always do flower arrangements in our house – then I had to keep them for Christmas arrangements
!!
I Love the colouration of the detail shots, specifically the contrast in the Protea (I think) shot-did you do it is Ps or is it an action?!
…And I agree with Michelle on the sunset – beautiful!
… While the puppies look very cute – they must be hard work!
Cool shots. The dogs have grown up nicely.
Lovely close up of the swing / see-saw.
love the barbed wire. so cool.
Last one is my favourite for sure!!! but we all know i adore a good sunset/sunrise
The last one is stunning!
