Luca’s 4th birthday party was held at Farmyard Frendz in Honeydew this morning. It was an action packed Spiderman party with a pass-the-parcel game, horse rides and tractor rides; and to top it off the kids fed the animals too!

Nicole booked her maternity shoot at the beginning of October, but we didn’t set a location at that time. She wanted photos taken in the veld, and she liked ruins and old buildings and was looking for something different. When I went to Tarlton a few weeks ago for another shoot, the owner of that farm told me about this burnt out stone house close by on an abandoned piece of land. As soon as I saw the property I knew it would be perfect for the shoot, so that’s where we met this morning.
And it was gorgeous! The weather even played it’s part – it went from drizzling to full sun!
Nicole and Jaco are expecting a little boy in February, and you can see they’re going to be stunning parents. The look on Jaco’s face when he was holding the little booties against Nicole’s tummy really made me smile!
I want to actually thank them for trusting me with this new location
I’m quite pleased to have been introduced to it!
I met up with Yolanda, Matt and Cayden this morning on a farm close to Tarlton for her maternity shoot. We chose this venue for her shoot as it’s quite private and Yolanda also wanted to do some boudoir style photos in the veld. This time of the year is just beautiful in veld settings with all the wild flowers, and because the long grasses had been cut, they were even more visible today.
It was such a very very hot morning, and Cayden did not want to play along with our plans for him at all; but it was fun.
I met the Smiths on their farm close to Buffelspoort Dam yesterday morning (after the GPS took me on a wild goose chase because I thought I was being clever and didn’t follow the directions I got sent by the family). And I could immediately see why they wanted their family portraits done there. What a beautiful spot overlooking the Magaliesburg mountain range! The timing was also perfect with all the wild flowers in bloom, so I couldn’t resist taking photos of the flowers too. I really struggled to choose photos for this sneak peak, so there are more than normal.
