One of Connor’s school friends came over this afternoon for a quick visit.  Shannon’s mom and I decided to take the kids to the veld so that I could help her with low light portraits… it was quite dark this afternoon with heavy cloud cover and we started this mini shoot after 5pm.

Shannon is such a little cutie, and her older brother Jason got on so well with Bradley that we ended up having quite a bit of fun running around after the kids trying to capture them in action :) It was also fun for me to get photos of a little girl for a change :)

This is my favourite image from today…

And the 2 older boys eventually came back from their adventure

Bradley turned 9 on Saturday and this evening he actually allowed me to take a few photos… albeit very quickly :) So I grabbed the opportunity…

And just one in colour because of his beautiful eyes

… and then the moment passed :) glad I caught it though

PS.  the Every Day Project is my 2012 photo project capturing every day images from my life… not necessarily every single day though

I took the boys to work with me on Monday, and we went to Sandton City… supposedly quickly… to collect a photobook (most gorgeous boudoir book with leather binding that’ll be delivered tomorrow to my client).  While we were there, I took the boys to see the Mandela statue in the square… because they couldn’t remember it… it’s not like we schlepp to Sandton as a family regularly ;)

Well, they spotted a child playing in the water fountain and had to join in.  As you can see Connor was very soon very wet… so our quick trip turned into a shopping spree as I tried to buy him new undies and a new t-shirt so that he could get dry!

Just a lot of innocent fun…

I’ve been really slack this week about taking photos of the kids, and also rather grotty and grouchy as I seem to have picked up a massive head cold.  This is not a good thing considering I have 2 photoshoots and a wedding this weekend… and that is making me even more grumpy…  the thought of being grumpy at a photoshoot.  Today was a little better than yesterday though, so I’m hoping by tomorrow afternoon… or rather I’ll make sure that by tomorrow afternoon I’m in a MUCH better frame of mind…

A bit more about the photo… you see that scratch above his eye?  Kitara decided to jump on his bed a few mornings ago and scratch his eye when she licked his face.  And the plaster on his finger… every time he has the remotest little scratch we have tears and only a plaster can solve the problem.
