Gotta love the late sunsets at the moment, so the kids took full advantage of the light, and had a swim after a tough game of cricket with dad in the garden. I took the opportunity to get re-acquainted with my back-up camera, the 50D. This time using my Canon 70-200mm lens…

And of course, what’s photos of my family without some of the huskies…

LOL and Bradley showing me his freestyle

M beautiful Canon 5D MKII got stolen out my car and I’m meeting the insurance assessor in the morning so y’all pray Outsurance pays out… please!! I’ve got the replacement quotes as they asked, have been through the police mills etc, now it’ the assessor’s turn.

I was so looking forward to writing this blog post, but my beloved camera got stolen this afternoon, and that’s kind of overshadowed the photos I took while I was in Mossel Bay doing the Ekstrom family photos. The story about my camera is on my other blog if you want to read it.
But let’s do this because I really want to show you the beauty that is Mossel Bay…
I really really wanted to visit the lighthouse, but it’s stupidly only open from Monday to Fridays!!

This was taken just under the lighthouse at the Point

Looking towards the Point. I stayed in the little houses you can see on the right.

I just loved all the dogwalkers on Little Brak beach

And I had to laugh when this black labrador came sauntering down the beach looking as pleased as punch with the barbell (sp?) that he had stolen from the seagulls.

And the rest are the views on Sunday morning at breakfast. I ate at Delphino’s restaurant on the Point next to the village that I was staying in and the restaurant overlooks the beach

Gosh I love this image… I can see this blown up on a canvas

I could very easily have a holiday vacation there… it’s too beautiful and the sea wasn’t too cold either.

I met the Lesley and Daniel and their 8 month old daugher, Rebecca, at Delta Park today… and they brought their spaniels, Henry and Chelsea, along for the shoot too.
It was an amazing photoshoot! Not only was the light absolutely perfect today, but Rebecca was the sweetest little thing ever who was full of smiles, and the dogs were so very good! It was also so awesome to find spots at the park that I hadn’t used before… like the big tree and the wild flowers in the grass.

This afternoon’s shoot with Mandy and Andrew and their kids must’ve been one of the fastest family shoots I’ve done at Delta Park. Photoshoots at that park take time because there’s quite a distance to walk to the various spots I like using. Today, however, we were chasing the weather and about 15 minutes into the session I heard the first bits of thunder and saw dark clouds and I knew we had to hurry.
It was fantastic timing too… just as I got in my car the first rain drops fell
It was a fun shoot and full of energy as you can see in the photos. It was a bit of a pity to rush because they brought their dogs with them! It’s not often that I get to include pets in the family photos…. and the kids LOVED it!! Kiara kept running up to Angie and wanting me to take photos of the two of them

I have been given a lens by Girl Guides to review, and I had some fun this afternoon trying it out on the huskies… cos I don’t exactly have wild animals in my backyard but sometimes the dogs come close. It’s a Sigma 50-500mm f4.5-6.3 HSM lens… and oh my it was very cool to play with a lens with that zoom length. My lenses only go to 200mm!
I’m not going to show you all the photos, but I will show you my favourites… mostly taken at 500mm
. They were all taken handheld and at about 5pm so the light wasn’t completely bright.

LOVE that I could get a shot of them playing like this… this is how they play with each other every day, and sometimes I wonder why there isn’t blood
