Regina contacted me a few weeks ago to book a few shoots… this is the first one (the other planned shoots are very different and you’ll have to wait a few months to see those). She wanted a few corporate-styled portrait photos done for her new blog, and she was quite specific about location. In the end we settled on my favourite little hideaway in Sandton, and because it was so close to work, the shoot was done during our lunch breaks. I love the feel of this place… it’s just so warehousey.
I love the first one… even though it’s not the corporate look she was looking for.

And for the first time in a long time, most of the shoot was done with my 50mm f1.4… I think I fell in love with it again.
I went to a Girlguides event tonight hosted by Sony. It was held at the Ten Bompas hotel in Dulkeld… what a stunning venue and the little snacks were awesome!
It was awesome to meet up with the Girlguides bloggers again, and meet some new faces that I’d only conversed with on Twitter before… and to combine that with finding out about the cool new gadgets on offer by Sony!! I particularly liked the digital frames (especially the 10 inch frame which also played video and music!) and the point and shoot cameras on offer… and was most impressed with the digital HD camcorder with built in projector!! What a cool toy that would be!!

You may think that this photo isn’t in focus… but actually… the TV is a 3D TV attached to a 3D video recorder… in which I did a self portrait. LOL what fun. I did like this gadget!

This digital frame actually has a built in printer! Very cool! Although, I did ask whether you’d be able to remove the printer from the frame because I’m not sure I’d like the printer on display in my house all the time… and apparently it could be.

And you know I mentioned the food being so good… please note how Jessica was hogging the desserts again…

More of my photos will be on Girlguides in a while, so I’ll update the post with the link when they’re up.
I had such fun tonight. I went to the Jozi Blogger Meetup at Wolves in Illovo. It was organised by Nicki and Tash and Angie and it was filled with bloggers and they gave away awesome prizes. Too awesome! I love the resurgence of blogging that’s happened recently, and after tonight, I now have so many more that I’m going to want to add to my reader! It was awesome to see my friends who’ve I’ve known for ages, and meet a few bloggers who I’ve been following for years and never actually met IRL.
I don’t actually have many images from the evening, and I was lazy so didn’t take out my flash, so all my images are grainy
but I like them like that
I don’t know all the people I took photos of, but I’ve linked to those that I do know
Firstly, it was awesome to see Tanya Kovarsky again

And I FINALLY got to meet Hayley and I spent more time with Timor

And Gina, you must recognise from old posts on my blog

Hehe MeeA and Nicci toasting with their free wine from Laborie

Nicki and Angie doing the draws for all sorts of prizes.

Oh and so excited to have FINALLY met Emma, I’ve been following her blog for ages!

I really hope there’ll be more meetups like this
it was good fun!
I met the “Waltons” and their “many many children” at the Johannesburg Zoo for a family photoshoot before family, and blogging and tweeting and Facebook friends joined us in the park for Wenchy’s birthday picnic. Christel (aka Wenchy) booked this shoot months ago to ensure that all kids were present… and that’s no mean feat for this family who have quite a few people to coordinate
Anyway, it was huge fun traipsing around with the family have 2 clothes changes in between as well… and here are my favourites.

Hehe trust me to find an old brick wall in the zoo

Liam wasn’t too impressed with having to sit on the fence, he was really very wary of the emu behind them.

Christel wanted me to do an updated photo of their tattoos similar to the photo I took of them at their engagement shoot 18 months ago

And then at the end of the picnic, we got the whole family together again for photos with Dion’s parents.
I’ll post some photos from her picnic tomorrow.
It was my first fashion shoot, and I had a ball!! When I went to a bloggers sale that Sandi held to sell from of her Sass Designs a few months, we all decided that a shoot would be in order. Basically all the bloggers that bought outfits from Sass Designs would be welcome to come and have a shoot.
Nadia offered her mom’s house for the shoot, and we decided on a date… well, it was yesterday… and the house was perfect… and I think everyone had a blast! After seeing how many people were going to come, I asked a few other photographers to join us… so Hannalee and Alana Meyer came along too.
These are my favourite shots from the shoot
In fact this was the first shot I took… Phillipa

When she first mentioned the tennis courts, Nadia’s mom didn’t think we could use it because of the rubble… hmm… well… you know how I like some ruins and this was perfect!
Phillipa showing off the One Dress with an a-line skirt and Rubyletters with a floral version. Note that most of the dresses in this shoot are actually the same style… just tied differently (it’s a VERY clever dress)

and now with Sandi, who was rocking the dress layered with boots and tights and a top underneath

Then Gina joined in, again wearing the One Dress

Tamaryn wore the most gorgeous blue dress that made her eyes pop!

Cake time with cupcakes provided by Angel (The Cupcake Lady)

Leigh-Ann looked stunning in the blue with Tanya in a tie-dye style

Oh and I just loved this one shoulder version that Syllable wore

It was such fun!! And yes, that’s me in the last shot… Juanita took the photo with my camera so I could at least be in a few shots with my Sass jacket
