I went to Jacqui and Stuart’s house in Bryanston today to take photos of Oliver.  Oliver is 4 weeks old and is Rhys’ baby brother.  I took photos of Rhys when he was 9 weeks old last year May, and I’m thrilled that I got to take his brother’s baby photos too :)

Oliver was a breeze, and because he was very awake and not exactly new newborn anymore, I didn’t even try with the curled up photos… which made it a much more relaxed shoot for everyone.  It was a challenge to get Rhys to play along with what we wanted to do, but I like what we got  because in the end we went with what Rhys was comfortable with, and that makes for much more natural photos.

Rhys was much more interested in what was going on outside at this point…

Rhys was playing under the pillows while I was busy with Oliver… I couldn’t resist taking a few photos of him :)

I met Jack this afternoon, and OMW he’s cute, and I even got a little smile out of him! He’s the brand new addition to the Browne family, who you may recognise from their maternity shoot a few months ago. I went to their house in Sundowner for a lifestyle shoot this afternoon (this is much more my style than the studio versions of home baby shoots that I used to do…. and it’s a lot more relaxed for the families too)

Just as we got outside, I spotted their siamese cat… and she just sat just in front of Lee-Anne and regally posed… so of course I had to include her, I love the second image with her as the older baby  ;)

Don’t you love his Superhero little onesie?

… and this plane was used as a prop in their maternity shoot

Denton and his family were one of the first families that I took photos of almost 3 years ago.  It was awesome seeing them again this afternoon.  We even used the same venue… their house and a nearby park… and I tried to make sure that the photos weren’t the same as the last time… which wasn’t that difficult considering my style has developed since then.  This time there’s also a new addition to the family.  Their youngest daughter is 7 months old… and so cute!!

It was actually so much fun doing a family shoot where the ages of the kids were so varied, and I had a baby, a child, a tween and a teen :) … so I got to do baby photos as well as more funky photos to get the best out of the older girls :)

They’re going to be relocating soon, so I know that I won’t be using the same location for their next shoot… they’ll just have to fly me to where they’ll be living ;) and do a shoot on the beach at sunrise.

Martin was born 16 days ago, and is the 6th generation Martin in the family!! I went to Beatrice and Martin’s (the dad) house this morning to take photos of Martin.  You may remember them from their maternity shoot a few weeks ago.

Isn’t his hair gorgeous?  And he was so very good, he was sleeping when I got there and we managed to keep him sleeping for quite a while before our luck ran out.  And I’m just LOVING the close-up photos I’m getting with my macro lens now.

I got a yawn!! I’m thrilled! Everytime he yawned before this shot, I was holding him or trying to move him into position so it was impossible to get a shot.

I went to Saloshnee and Shalen’s house in Crowthorne today to take photos of their gorgeous 2 month old son Shaihir.  You may recognise Saloshnee from her maternity photos that I took a few months ago at Emmerentia.  Well, they are such awesome parents now, and it was so sweet watching Shalen hold his son… his face lit up immediately.

Because Shaihir is 2 months old, I didn’t even try to get him to sleep, so we had a shoot full of wide eyes :) I just loved his eyes!!

Saloshnee contacted me a few days ago and asked me to also take a few photos of their family because her mom had travelled from Durban for the weekend, so we ended the shoot with the full family having photos taken in their garden.
