Alexis’ mom Nicky contacted me a few weeks ago via Twitter, after getting my name referred a few times when she asked about a photographer in the area.  Alexis was exactly 9 weeks old for her photoshoot today, and she’s such a cutie with the BIGGEST eyes! And I realised when I got home, and found their family blog, that she was born on my birthday… how awesome is that… she’s going to be one awesome chick)  !!

Today’s shoot wasn’t a walk in the park, because Alexis was not her usual easy going self, and she was extremely unhappy with what seemed to be a very sore tummy.  So we cut the shoot short after getting some nice photos… and I’m going to go back in a few weeks time to finish it off.

She might look uncomfortable here, but dad assured me that that’s how he carries her most days.

Heidi was going to do her niece Tatum’s newborn shoot on her own, and then after chatting to her at Tech4Africa, I suggested that I bring along my equipment so that she didn’t have to buy stuff just for one shoot.  And of course I had to take some photos while I was there

Tatum is a little Twitter star already, with her own Twitter handle, PrincessTatum; and her mom, Romy, tweets all her updates and photos.  Her tweets have been going out from before she was born!  And today was the first time I’d met her, after reading about her for months, isn’t she adorable?!

I was thrilled when Heidi showed me the fur coat that she wanted to use as a prop… it was their late mom’s coat, and just PERFECT for the shoot!

When Andy Hadfield ran out of the first day of Tech4Africa tweeting “Holy crap. THUNDER CATS ARE GO! Off to have a baby chaps!”, he had everyone watching the stream for news of Jack’s birth and of course a photo. And it wasn’t long before MyNews24 picked up the story.

Anyhoo, I was privileged enough to get asked a few months ago by his wife Chantal to take their maternity photos, and also the newborn photos of baby Jack. So today, I went to their house for Jack to have his first photoshoot… not that he was at all happy about this disturbance.

Isn’t he a cutie?  All that blonde hair is just too gorgeous!

Do you remember Claire and Roger’s maternity shoot from a few weeks ago?  Well, Claire gave birth to beautiful Kayla not long after that, and I went to their house today to do their newborn shoot.

It’s not my normal newborn shoot with bare bottoms  Kayla just point blank refused to allow us to remove her clothes. As soon as she got close to being naked she screamed blue murder… and was awake… so we just put her clothes back on and carried on with the shoot.

Isn’t her room gorgeous? Love all the pink!  And the stunning scruffy bear murals were painted by Claire’s aunt.
