Lance and I got a letter the other day from the school, informing us that there was an awards ceremony and we needed to attend.  Only 2 kids in his class got the note… so we were really looking forward to it!

Well, the awards for Grades 0 and 1 were held today in the school hall… and Bradley got his class’ term merit award for “Outstanding Achievement in all areas”.  Only one child per class got given this award, and the other award for his grade was a Book Lover’s award

And PS… he’s actually reading the post over my shoulder as I type

And Bradley is telling me that I need to tell you that he can wear the badge when he’s in Grade 1 next year.

I was absolutely thrilled last night when I found out that I’m a finalist in the 2009 SA Blog Awards in the Photographic category. Woohoo!! Hope you all vote for me by following the link on the button below…

Anyhoo, back to the program. It’s kids birthday party season, or so it seems, and we went to a friend’s kids double birthday party yesterday afternoon.

On the subject of trees (I won a tree last year at the award ceremony which I brought back to JHB on the plane), Connor tried his very very best to climb this tree on Sunday… not that he got very far at all.

Firstly, thanks so much for all the votes!! I went to the SA Blog Awards last night, and won!! How cool is that!! As soon as I receive the badge I’ll load it onto my blog.
I’m just not sure how I’m going to get the tree back to Jo’burg on the plane!
I took my colleagues to Signal Hill yesterday evening to show them the views. They’d never been there before. The view takes my breath away at the best of times, but yesterday’s sunset was spectacular!
