I’ve just collected my new sample wedding photobook containing some of my favourite images from 2011, and I’m so thrilled with the way it’s turned out!
The book is an A4 landscape Designer Album with personalised cover with genuine leather binding. It’s one of the more popular covers that my clients choose. I just love the Designer album because the pages are just that much thicker and feel more lustrous.
I was thrilled when the box company I use, Piper Fox, contacted me yesterday to say that my new boxes were ready, and I went there this morning before work to collect them. My new branding is virtually complete now.
If you’re a client, you’d know that all my sessions get packaged in a ribboned box… and here are my new ones to match my new logo and new colours…
The lids are plain black in a linen finish, and the bases are black and white floral “damask”. And the most exciting bit is that I’ve finally taken the plunge and had them branded with my new logo!! The lids have got my new logo embossed with a black foiling. I also have new ribbon to match… black with white edging.
I’m so very pleased with the way they’ve turned out. I’m now going to order the A4 boxes too!
This has been a very hectic few nights getting this revamp organised, but I can safely announce that I now have a new logo and a new blog layout to go with it.
The flowery logo wasn’t really “me”, and this is much more me. Huge thanks has to go to Tanya from Snapping Turtle Designs for putting up with my endless changes until I got the logo I was happy with
As for the blog, it’s a major change too. I wanted to move away from the standard photography blog layout that most photographers have, and I wanted something that was more like a traditional flash site, but wasn’t flash and was actually a blog. So, IntotheDarkroom ended up being the theme of choice.
I must say, that it hasn’t been the easiest move in the world, mostly because I don’t read instructions properly!! But anyhoo, huge thanks to the ITDR team for their patience with me too!!
My new blog, which is also a portfolio site, is now live. I still have to finish the portfolios, but in essence it’s now working
If you’ve come to the blog post from a reader, please press the “Home” button in the menu, and have a look at the home page that now exists. It’s no longer an endless list of blog posts
Tell me what you think…
(PS. My next change is going to be to my packaging… so gone are the filigree designed pale blue boxes with silver ribbon, and in their place are white or black linen boxes which I can’t decide on so let me know in the comments which colour you think I should go for)
I have quite a few photobooks in my pipeline at the moment, and I collected the remainder of quite a few orders today which are now ready for delivery… so I’m going to have at least 2 happy clients this week!! I cannot resist showing them off a bit, because even the book printer commented about the one book and how they liked the unusual book size that I ordered.
You may remember Michele’s shoot from a while ago. In addition to the canvases and prints she ordered, she ordered 2 books as well… one with her portrait session, and another just with her boudoir photos. They’re not big books, they’re both A5 in portrait with flushmount pages (which is unusual because normally that size is printed in landscape but I just felt the photos needed a portrait book). The portrait shoot has a printed cover and the boudoir shoot has a black leatherette cover.
The other books ready for delivery are for Maxine’s family. Maxine has ordered 4 books from Peyton’s shoot that are all slightly different, and I’m only showing you one of them. They’re all A4 flushmounted landscape books with printed covers (that means the pages are stiff and lie flat when opened).
I’m really pleased with the way they’ve turned out
Tanya collected her prints and DVDs yesterday, and sent me this stunning email which I just had to share
I LOVE getting compliments like this because it means that I’m doing something right… I also love the fact that she likes my packaging, and not just the images
I collected my photo’s yesterday and I just had to send you a note to compliment you on the beautiful packaging – I almost didn’t want to open it
The care you take in your packaging of the prints and DVD’s is something not often seen today and the love you have for what you do is so apparent with the little personal touches that mean so much!
The prints I ordered came out beautifully, better then I ever thought and I cant wait to have them up in my home to be admired constantly.
Our photoshoot was really an investment and I recommend you without a second thought to anyone I speak to that is looking for a photographer.
I look forward to the next time I can have you behind the lens taking photo’s of my family.
Regards,
Tanya
