As you know, I’m running the Moms with Cameras workshop on Saturday 2 July 2011.

For part of the workshop, the moms are going to be doing a practical exercise with kids in the gardens of the venue.

I need a mom (or 2 moms) to come through to the venue in Honeydew, Johannesburg with 2 kids to be our models at about 3pm for 2 hours.

What’s in it for you?  My best 5 photos of your kids (and you) edited in high resolution.

Oh and drumroll….

I have a sponsor for the workshop now, and Epson will be coming during the workshop to give a small talk on printing photos and will be printing out a few images from all attendees. In addition, the best image for the day wins a prize!  Cool hey?!

It’s going to be an awesome afternoon!

Please email me jeanette@jeanetteverster.com if you’re interested

***UPDATE**** spots have been taken!!

The last workshop I ran for moms in March 2011 was such a success, that I’ve organised another one!!  It’s not quite the same structure as I did learn a few things… like having the mom’s kids present was not a good idea ;) so this time I’ll get someone to bring some kids half way through the afternoon.  I’ve also chosen a venue with loads of photo opportunities and lots of space outside for kids to run.

Well, dear blog readers of mine, I don’t often ask for help here… so I’m hoping I get a HUGE response ;)

I’m planning another Moms with Camera’s workshop.  It’s going to take place on 2 July in the afternoon.

I need help finding a venue though, or else I can’t run the workshop.  And I don’t really have the luxury of time with me working full-time and shoots over weekends, so I have to finalise the venue this weekend.

I’m looking for a place that has the following:

1. A seating area for 15 people, with space for me to do a presentation (hopefully with a screen, but it’s ok if that’s not there)

2.  A garden or wide open space or building with grungy or interesting doors and windows for the practical part of the workshop

3.  A place that caters.  I need the venue to provide tea and coffee, maybe wine, and some snacks for tea

4.  The workshop space mustn’t be public, or else the attendees will get distracted. (which is why my idea of using 44 Stanley didn’t work out because they have a band playing in a square over weekends)

5.  The use of the space mustn’t be expensive because I want the workshops to be affordable for moms.

6.  The venue must be in Johannesburg, preferably in the North or West because I don’t want to travel too far ;)

I’m not going to be asking the moms to bring their kids this time, but I will be asking on my blog for a volunteer to arrive for the practical part with a baby or child ;)   The kids with their moms didn’t work out the last time, it was far too distracting.

I’m really hoping someone has a bright idea or a contact at a guest house or owns a guest house or tea garden that we can use.  If the venue works, I want to be able to use it more regularly.

And lastly, I can’t put a post up without an image… and I love this one that you haven’t seen yet, from a recent shoot

Marc contacted me last week and asked me a few questions about my iPhoneography (ie photography taken with my iPhone)… which is actually part of an i365 project (photo a day taken with an iPhone)… of course I said yes ;) (you know how much I love my iPhone and Instagram)  and my answers are up on his blog

He’s looking for more local iPhoneographers to showcase, so if you know any good ones, let @marcforrest know on Twitter ;)
