I was invited to attend the launch of Cherriheart , held at Higher Ground on Saturday, and of course I took my camera along… with my wallet.
Cherriheart is a new local online fashion store, which will stock locally designed and made clothing… for SA shaped women. I must say, the T-shirt and work top that I bought fits absolutely perfectly (it’s one size smaller than other sizing that you get locally… so I bought a medium where I normally buy a large).
Marietjie, love what you and your partners have done… and definitely going to order more
Loved these rings!! Should have bought a few!
Isn’t this beautiful? Love this dress!
and then it was time to shop
Jeremy from JK Productions asked me to take photos of his equipment being used at a massive corporate year-end function that took place last weekend. It was amazing with such fun fun-fair equipment for everyone to play on… and everyone was joining in, it wasn’t just the kids having fun.
My absolute favourite thing was the most incredibly enormous water slide… my boys would have LOVED it!! Wish we had the space to hire that for one of their birthday parties!
My next favourite thing was definitely the inflatable climbing wall… now that would also make my boys ecstatically happy!
Ooh and check out this ENORMOUS jumping castle…
I’m definitely going to give them a call when I organise another kids party at home!
I was thrilled when I got an email a few weeks ago from the Whisky Live Festival asking me to take their photos again this year. The Johannesburg leg of the festival is being held at the moment at the Sandton Convention Centre, and if you’re looking for something to do in the evening… do this! It’s so much fun… OK… I wasn’t partaking in the drinking tonight, but while I was taking photos I was listening to the talks and they were fascinating.
It’s not every day that you get to listen to distillers explaining how they make the various whiskies… and in fact, how to pair the whiskies with various food!
Ooh and then there was this Chaloner stand with the most awesome local preserves… and yes… I did buy some
I bought the most delish sundried tomato tapenade, and an olive marmalade and an orange marmalade made with whisky. So very yum!
There was also a Jo Malone stand… I’m going to have to add one of their fragrances to my Christmas wish list now!

Last night I took photos at the Epson Channel Awards evening which was held at The Castle in Kyalami. Gary Bailey was the MC and recounted many interesting stories from his time playing with Manchester United between the awards being handed out. As for the entertainment, it was spectacular with gorgeous vocalist Suzanne Marsay singing while everyone ate (there were loads of compliments about her singing as I was walking through the dining areas), and then 2 sets by Sterling EQ (Who are absolutely incredible!).

I was thrilled to get asked to take photos at the South African launch of Virgin Galactic this week. The event was held at Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg. It was fascinating to be amongst the first South Africans to hear about Virgin Galactic… and by the end of the evening I was wondering if anyone had actually bought a ticket because all the Virgin companies had put up prizes for the first person to book a ticket that evening.
If you haven’t seen it before, I found this on the Virgin Galactic Youtube channel, and I’m virtually positive this was the last video we watched last night
If I had a spare $200k lying around, I’d buy a ticket… in fact, I’ve now added this to my bucket list!
