I was so very lucky on Sunday afternoon for this photoshoot with the extended Spence family… the weather had been completely miserable all day, and it was actually drizzling when I arrived at the park, but thankfully the weather cleared and we had an awesome shoot!

It was quite critical that we got this shoot to happen this weekend, as the photos are going to be used as Christmas presents, so I’m quite grateful for the change in weather :) … and how cute are the 3 girls? And because these are for gifts, this is a BUMPER blog post so they can choose images for printing now… they won’t be able to wait until I deliver all the images.

I’ve known the Lockley family for very many years, so it was awesome to take their photos this weekend.  Their youngest daughter Emma, was my first newborn client, and I also took photos at her first birthday party.  I met them in the Rose Gardens at Emmerentia Botanical Gardens in Johannesburg and the girls had a ball on the various levels of the gardens and looking at all the fountains.

This afternoon’s shoot with Mandy and Andrew and their kids must’ve been one of the fastest family shoots I’ve done at Delta Park.  Photoshoots at that park take time because there’s quite a distance to walk to the various spots I like using.  Today, however, we were chasing the weather and about 15 minutes into the session I heard the first bits of thunder and saw dark clouds and I knew we had to hurry.

It was fantastic timing too… just as I got in my car the first rain drops fell :)

It was a fun shoot and full of energy as you can see in the photos. It was a bit of a pity to rush because they brought their dogs with them! It’s not often that I get to include pets in the family photos…. and the kids LOVED it!! Kiara kept running up to Angie and wanting me to take photos of the two of them :)

I met Tania and her family at Delta Park this afternoon for their long-awaited photoshoot. Long-awaited because Tania first contacted me in May, and her shoot kept getting postponed because of illnesses… so I was very happy when the weather played along with our plans today and we had an awesome photoshoot!

Their son, 2 and half year old Alessio (don’t you just LOVE the name? I LOVE the way it sounds), is so very cute and has the most gorgeous eyes and curly hair. They were such an awesome family to take photos of.

I must remember for the next shoot at Delta Park with little ones, not to start under the trees though, because he was completely distracted by the swings and slides!! But I got what I was looking for :)

I was thrilled to see that the graffiti had changed… and I found this little hole in the wall… just perfect for little beings :)

and there are even more on my Facebook page:)

I haven’t shared one of my thank you’s from my clients in a long long time, and when I got this email from Marcia the other day, I just had to share it.  It really really makes my day when I get emails like this… it means that I’ve made a family happy… and that I’ve succeeded in my quest to tell their story…

Because I know Marcia quite well now, and I’m linked to her virtually everywhere, I checked out her Pinterest boards the day before the shoot.  I remembered seeing pins in my stream where she’d marked ideas for family photos.  That way I had an idea about what she liked and was looking for from the shoot.  This is one of the images that I just love… and one that I didn’t put up in the original blog post.

Anyhoo… this is the email I got when she got the couriered box containing the DVD.

Jeanette, I got it!

And I am ECSTATIC – the photos are everything I imagined and then some. I love the ones with the teddies (and they were a last-minute idea!)
Thank you so very much – gosh, I should have done this type of shoot ages ago!

I am OVER THE MOON!

And I’ve just checked her blog too, and I see she’s posted something there too :) It made me smile A LOT!
