When Katherine contacted me to take photos of their elopement in Magaliesburg I jumped at the chance! It was the first elopement I’ve taken photos of.

Katherine and Craig got married on the edge of a dam at Budmarsh Country Lodge, a 5 star hotel in Magaliesburg. It was the perfect setting for the couple who wanted privacy for their wedding. It was just me and the pastor… and a couple of ducks.

Budmarsh Country Lodge is one of the favourite places to go, so it made sense for them to organise their wedding day there.

After the ceremony, we went to the bar where they signed the papers… and it was time for whisky and champagne before heading to the gardens for a few photos.

Of course we had to stop at the pool table for Katherine to show Craig her skills 😉

The gardens at Budmarsh were just perfect for photos, and I found so many places that I could have spent hours at! This old shed was ideal to get a bit of variety after spending quite a bit of time in the green gardens.

These photos taken on the edge of trees are my favourite though! By the sun had dropped a little and the light was much softer. Add the gorgeous dark green trees and shrubs and you have the perfect foil to their blue outfits!

This was the very lost shot I took, and I knew immediately that it was my favourite for the day.
