Pam and Claudio had their wedding at The View Boutique Hotel in Auckland Park on Saturday. It was such a special day, and I felt honoured to spend the day with their friends and family. I loved the intimacy of the small wedding ceremony. After the ceremony ended, the rest of their guests arrived for the big family lunch. I’ve never been to a wedding like that, and I thought it was just perfect!

Claudio and Pam live in Wales, and were in South Africa just for their wedding (and their friends wedding too). The time spent with family and friends at a wedding is always so very special knowing that it’s fleeting. A few people told me during the afternoon that the family very seldom gets together like this.

The wedding ceremony was stunning. They chose the best place at the hotel for the ceremony and only had their parents, grandparents and wedding party in attendance. The view from the setting they chose was outstanding!

This is such a Joburg sight! I loved that I got the Sentech tower into their photos… something small to remind them of home.

Claudio’s mom recited an Italian poem written by her grandmother.

They wrote their own vows. I love that!

Just as we started the couple photos, the rest of the guests arrived for lunch.

I really loved the terraced garden at the hotel. I could have spent hours taking photos in the gardens.

The hotel’s setting was just perfect for a big family garden styled lunch. The kids (and the adults of course) had a ball on the croquet lawn. The badminton set proved to be a hit too! The kids were kept properly entertained with party packs made specially for them. The bubbles were really the hit of the day, once they got tired of the water fountains.

It was a really incredible afternoon! The music was about to start as I left. It looked like the celebrations were set to continue way into the evening.
