Wesley and Yun’s wedding took place at the most magnificent Nirox Sculpture Park in the Cradle of Humankind yesterday. What a perfect setting! The grounds of the foundation are truly magnificent, and it was a photographers dream… with lanes of trees, gorgeous buildings, amazing rolling parklands and plenty of lakes and streams to play with.
Wesley and Yun only saw the venue yesterday morning for the first time! Yes, the first time! You see, they were supposed to get married at another venue, and then things happened and the venue was changed 2 weeks ago! They completely trusted that their wedding planner, Otto de Jager would choose a perfect venue, and he sure did! Everyone commented during the evening that it could not have been more perfect.
When I met the couple to discuss their wedding, it was clear that photos of their son, Ethan, were very important to them. They actually wanted to incorporate a baby shoot during the day too… so unusually you’ll see a lot of photos of the baby in the photos :)… and he was such a cutie too!! Because they wanted a babyshoot, we also did a First Look… so they got to see each other before the ceremony. Oh I love doing “first looks”… it’s really so very special!
The wedding was all about family, and the reception was a really relaxed evening with light music playing while everyone chatted and ate an amazing dinner.
It’s not every day, that I see a bride getting helped into her dress by her mom and her new mom-in-law!
These gold bracelets were a gift from China..
