I took the kids to the Lion Park yesterday, and they LOVED it.  Bradley’s favourite part of the day was definitely feeding the giraffe with their looong black tongues, and they both enjoyed gently touching the lion cubs.

By the time we drove around the park and went to the lion camps, I think they were both fed up… and were driving me bananas… adding to my annoyance with myself because I’d only packed my 50mm lens.  Anyhoo, it was an afternoon that was all about the kids, and not so much about me feeding my photography passion… and I did achieve that… so it ended up being a good outing (even though I could have probably had the most magnificent lion close-ups had I actually take my 70-200mm lens!)

This was too funny, Bradley thought the giraffe was going to walk away so he turned his back, and the girafe came back and nuzzled his hair :)

Then the kids went back to the platform to try and feed them again… and give them a scratch on their heads, which seemed to be what they were wanting :) was too amazing for the boys

  • Amazing!!! Love the giraffe! Too cute!

  • I love how friendly the giraffe was :)

You forget how huge lions are until you see one next to a 4×4!

  • That giraffe is too beautiful!! So graceful and gentle! I love!

  • Oh I do love the Rhino and Lion park. A firm favourite when we have international guests visit. Haven’t seen the giraffes (only in the wild) so they must be quite new!

  • I’d love to take my nephews there, looks like an amazing outing

  • I love the giraffes! Did not know you could feed them there.

  • Such awesome photos!

  • Hehe had to laugh about how the day was for the “kids”. Jon and I go whenever we can, we turn into absolute children ourselves around those animals. And imagine Jon’s allergic reaction to the lions, when just a normal house cat has him break out in hives. Have learned to keep calamine lotion at home just for these trips.

Your youngest little man looks so fed up sitting on the rock with the cubs, hahahaa. Was he hot?

    • I should have said… about me spending time with the kids and not my camera :) LOL!
He didn’t want his photo taken, he wanted to run up and down the rocks and it was giving me the heebie jeebies

  • I love the one where you are directly under the giraffe and looking up at his head!

  • These photos are amazing Jenty!
