Ashley and Sally contacted me a few months ago to take the photos on their special day. They were referred to me by Tanya, whose wedding photos I took in October, as well as my brother! I love referrals
Their wedding took place yesterday on a very hot and muggy day… the weather was absolutely gorgeous… but oh so very hot when you’re wearing layers of petticoats and tulle and a kilt!
And speaking of kilts… all the guys in the retinue not only had kilts but the full Scottish kit down to the shoes!! Even the 2 little page boys
The venues that they chose for getting ready, and for the ceremony and reception were both incredible. Thatch and Thorn was lovely, and I LOVED the light in the suite that we used. Da Vincenzo’s was just amazing. The staff were so attentive and they kept me informed of everything going on, and treated the bridal couple like gold. The food was absolutely delicious, and I’m definitely going back there for a dinner with friends!
LOVED the guest house’s dog who took a liking to Sally, and followed her everywhere. And I couldn’t resist taking a photo of him
Michael was fascinated by the bottle of holy water
How amazing is this table setting design?!! The cards with the table settings were strung from branches with crystal angels.
And then during the reception, I spotted this building next door, and how cool are they?! They left their guests during dinner for 5 minutes to take a few more photos in this amazing setting… it was so very worth it!
Oh and I do LOVE this image… it’s the only real maternity one I’m showing you… you see, Sally is 4 months pregnant
And I have to give a shout-out to Glenn, who declared himself the photography assistant for the day, and was a pack horse of note! And yes, he was one of the guests… and WOW I wouldn’t mind him coming along to any of my photoshoots. I’ll definitely be phoning him if/when I do a wedding in KZN. He not only helped me with my bags, but fetched sheets for Sally to sit on, and made sure they had drinks and helped Sally with her dress. He was wonderful!
