I met the Mosley family at the Hermanstad FOTR Steam Train station today for a photoshoot, and it was so cool taking photos of Adele and her family again.  I last saw them when I took their photos almost 2 years ago!

We had a blast, and Caleb seemed to be in his element clambering in and out of the engines.  It’s such an awesome place to go, and what;s so cool, is that every time I go, it’s slightly different.  There are different coaches on the tracks, and even the grassy patches with sleepers are different… so I get to vary the photoshoots a lot which is fabulous because no-one ever gets the same photos.

One of the coaches was opened for us, and it happened to be the manager’s coach… and it was perfectly intact… so we pretended to go on a trip.  The kids were fascinated by the compartments, and the lounge area and the kitchens that we found in the coach.

Do you need special permission to go into this train station? I would love to go one Sunday with the kids and take some photo’s :)

    • Fi, you need to contact FOTR (friendsoftherail.com). They charge R250 for the use of the station of photos and will let you take photos there on days there aren’t train trips.

  • What a fabulous venue for photos. Some great shots you got here, really nice.

  • Very nice Jeanette, my favs are 1 with Caleb and his dad and 10 where he’s in the steam engine by himself.

I love these old steamers and did a shoot a couple of years ago at Rovos’s station in Capital Park, when FOTR were still stationed there.

  • These are great. Love the location. Great looking family.
