Kimo is forever grabbing socks and shoes and in fact, he loves pulling my underwear off the washing line and running off with it. Yesterday however, if you are following me on Twitter and Facebook, you would have seen that he’s now surpassed that trick!
Just after Angelique and Jordan left yesterday, I noticed him running in the garden with one of Connor’s socks in his mouth, so we gave chase. He was not prepared to give up his prize, and disappeared into a bush… only to come out the other side gulping… and the sock was nowhere in sight!
After reading a few reactions to this story on Twitter and Facebook, I decided to phone the vet. The dog of course, looked fantastic after the incident. He had a few gulps of water, and ran around like normal, and even managed to find a piece of paper to eat too!!
Eventually the vet got back to me and said I should really bring him in.
Poor thing! He got given mootie to make him vomit, and he had to stay overnight as it makes dogs really ill.
When I picked him up this afternoon, the vet presented me with the sock… still in one piece and just needing a wash
He also told me that the sock was bigger than he thought from my discussion with him, and that we’re lucky that I was there to see him do it, and lucky we got it out, as it would definitely have caused problems and resulted in an operation!!

And Kimo of course was just beside himself. He yelped and howled all the way home and licked me a few times too
. Kitara on the other hand, didn’t fare too well without her brother, so she went completely mental when I brought him home and then came to give me a few licks too
Their reunion was too cute!
So then I took them and the boys for a quick walk in the park… he looks perfectly fine doesn’t he?!

Looney dog!! And it’s not like he’s learnt his lesson either, he was scavenging at the park… finding papers and all sorts of things to chew!

I can’t resist adding this photo of Connor trying to lead Kitara ![]()

hehehehe…since yesterday i could not stop laughing….I know that it is now suppose to be funny, but I could just imagine this poor dog that ate the sock….lol
Stunning pictures like always, and I am glad the doggie is all ok now
Never a dull moment huh?
Shooo.. close one! Thank goodness the sock was retrieved and all is well.
my dog had to have surgery for eating a toy. It was in her stomach for 6 months or so (we think) before it got small enough to move into her intestines….but it wasn’t small enough, as it got lodged in there. She got violently ill, so I took her in to the vet. the xray showed the obstruction. eeekkkkk…..spendy surgery.
I’m glad your doggy is okay.
Love the photos – glad you got to the park for a run around !!!
…. and the sock .. perfect !
I love the look on his face in the loony pic.
Oh they keep you on your toes, those fur babies. He looks just fine.
Love the second last one
They are getting so big!!!
I told my husband about this and he said that if Maggie ever did anything like that it would mean a 9mm to the head… He’s not forking out $$$$ for an operation. I really have to watch her, since she does run off with the laundry at every opportunity.
What a crazy dog!!! Thank heavens you called the vet and got him checked out. By the sounds of it he likes to eat things ~ how does your garden look?
LOL Goodness Jeanette, I’m glad it all turned out ok. I think he may be nuttier than our dog hehehe.
Great shots! Beautiful babies… including the furry kind.
You should totally try entering one of these in the Wiley Photo Challenge. This month’s topic just so happens to be pets!
