Sisters, K and H, had their fifth and sixth joint birthday party today at Post House Parties in Chartwell North Estates, on the outskirts of Johannesburg. What a magnificent venue, with an amazing amount of space (with green green grass) and horses and ducks and with all the entertainment that Belinda, from Cherry Tree Events, organised, the kids were busy from the moment they got there!
We took some portraits of the family just before the guests arrived, and then the fun started.

There was a Foam Pit… how awesome! It was the first time I’d seen one at a party, and it was SUCH a hit with the kids. The foam is dry and completely biodegradable, so even though it tended to fly out of the pit and all over the garden, it was perfectly fine. And because it was “dry” the kids didn’t get too wet, and the parents did have to watch the littlies too closely.

And then the kids decorated pink and blue peak caps, which they could take home. This kept them occupied for ages, some more than others ![]()

The cakes were also quite different, because in fact, they were cupcakes that were iced like a cake. It’s very handy when you don’t want knives around!

The last thing they did before going home, was feed the ducks and tortoises on the property, and they got to hold a 7 year old tortoise too!
