I went out for dinner this evening with colleagues to a restaurant called “The Black Swan” in Sophiatown.  What an experience!!  It’s run by a couple of guys, who have transformed this small suburban house into such an oasis! The gardens and decor are magnificent, and they have 2 black swans on the property (hence the name). The one guy is an artist, and all the paintings on all the walls were painted by him, and are for sale; and the cooking is primarily done by his partner.

And the food was just sublime! We had black mushrooms and salad to start and then I had Lamb Kleftika with the most DIVINE roast potatoes EVER… with some veggies.  The guys that had the vegetarian meal with stuffed aubergine were also very impressed.

I must say though, that these are not the best photos of the place, and definitely don’t do it justice, but I didn’t feel comfortable taking photos there, so these are all that you get.
