It’s any child’s dream come true… he’s been told by a doctor that he has to drink coke!

Connor had a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy this morning, and on doctor’s order is not allowed fruit juice or energy drinks or spicy food (including tomato sauce which is going to be very interesting to cut out of his diet) for the next 10 days.  Instead he has to have coke, water, tea and he’s allowed milk!! Oh and to add to that, I now have to buy chips and jelly babies for him to eat, and wake him up in the middle of the night for a junk food snack to help his throat recover (so it’s not that sore in the mornings).

So much for the jelly and ice-cream that my generation got fed after this type of operation! The new way is the scratchier the food the better!

He’s sleeping on the couch at the moment, but he was such a trooper this morning.  As a parent it’s just terrible to help and watch your child being put under anaesthetic, and the recovery is even worse!! Especially when you have a fighter like this little one on your hands!
