Supper smells good

On my other blog, I’ve mentioned that I’m trying to cook a new recipe at least once a week.  I haven’t done it in a few weeks, as it’s been kind of hectic, but we had a quiet day today, so I got my Jamie Oliver recipe books out and chose to cook his slow cooked lamb with roasted vegetables from his Jamie’s Dinners book.

I haven’t quite followed the recipe, because I couldn’t get shoulder of lamb so I bought a leg, and I forgot to buy celery (but I don’t like it anyway), and it been cooking in my slow cooker for about 5 hours already (instead of the oven).  I really hope it tastes as good as it smells at the moment!

Supper cooking

What’s really cool is that I’ve picked all the herbs for the dish from my garden.  That rosemary and bits of thyme that you can see sticking out of the lamb was picked as I prepared the dish.  It’s the first time that I’ve cooked with the bay leaves from my tree – in fact I now have 3 bay trees!
