I could have taken these shots without a flash, but I’ve decided I need to use my new 580EXII flash more.  These were taken outside at dusk this evening.  The flash was on-camera with the flash head pointing to the left at a slight angle. If I’d set the flash manually and reduced the power, I probably would have got some of the garden in the background, but I quite like the starkness of these shots taken with the ETTL setting.
