I had a photo-filled day today.  I had a family shoot this morning, and then I went to the Photo Expo at Northgate.

It was good… not brilliant though.  It was only when Christine asked me on Twitter to send details of new suppliers that I realised why I didn’t think it was brilliant… I’d seen most of the stuff before… it wasn’t new.  I expected to see things that we ordinarily can’t get in this country.

I did get a lot out of the day though!  I met up with a whole bunch on people including Desi (first time I met her even though we’ve known each other online for about 6 years), Natasha, Tanya, Fiona, Charmaine (colleague), Lizette (who I met while in the labour ward and our sons were in neighbouring beds in NICU) and @za5 (I actually only learnt what his real name was last night when we arranged to meet!).  On top of the catching up and camera talk, we went to a few of the talks, including the Wedding Photography talk by Brett Florens which was excellent (so now I want to get his training DVD!).

And then, BIG DRUM ROLL…. I upgraded my camera :)   I bought a 50D body.  So tomorrow everyone coming for lunch at my house will be subjected to me and my camera ;)   I have to test it out properly!

And that was my day, but I can’t possibly post without a photo, so here’s a little teaser from the fun shoot this morning.

Fun with a phone
