As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we drove to Parys on Sunday to visit MIL. And what would a trip to Parys be without some photos of the dry Freestate landscape taken through the window of the car as we’re whizzing on the highway ;)

You might wonder why we never stop.  Partly because we just want to get there and then home again, and partly because of the boys.  If Lance had to stop the car and I had to get out, we’d have 2 boys whining and crying that they also want to get out… and then it’ll take half an hour per stop instead of 5 minutes.  So I take the photos at high speed instead and thereby testing my fast shutter speed abilities :)

But you’ll be excited to hear, Lance has agreed to go on a photo drive this coming Sunday! Woohoo! That’s a first!  Hopefully I’ll find new ruins and gorgeous winter coloured landscapes to take photos of.  And we’ll actually be able to stop because we won’t be in a hurry!

Ruin in the veld

We saw so many veld fires (grass fires) on the road, that I had to try and capture one of them.  The air was very smoky as we drove into Johannesburg again.

Hehe, and this post all about landscapes is just after my interview on Nerdmag explains how this is my least favourite type of photography
