As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we drove to Parys on Sunday to visit MIL. And what would a trip to Parys be without some photos of the dry Freestate landscape taken through the window of the car as we’re whizzing on the highway
You might wonder why we never stop. Partly because we just want to get there and then home again, and partly because of the boys. If Lance had to stop the car and I had to get out, we’d have 2 boys whining and crying that they also want to get out… and then it’ll take half an hour per stop instead of 5 minutes. So I take the photos at high speed instead and thereby testing my fast shutter speed abilities
But you’ll be excited to hear, Lance has agreed to go on a photo drive this coming Sunday! Woohoo! That’s a first! Hopefully I’ll find new ruins and gorgeous winter coloured landscapes to take photos of. And we’ll actually be able to stop because we won’t be in a hurry!

We saw so many veld fires (grass fires) on the road, that I had to try and capture one of them. The air was very smoky as we drove into Johannesburg again.

Hehe, and this post all about landscapes is just after my interview on Nerdmag explains how this is my least favourite type of photography
LOL, it’s also my least favourite kind of photography! I’m always amazed at what you manage to capture at high speed, you should start a group for high speed landscape photography (0;
I never get to stop either. My hubby is always sooooooooooooo much in a hurry, or sugar wants out too. what a bummer.
I hope you photo drive goes well.

I love taking pictures out the car window, but I am also lucky in that my sweetheart will stop for me whenever we see something interesting!
I also love all the ruins you find along the road.

I know the problem. The moment you see something and stop for a quick photo the kids want to get out and if they don’t its a whine for the rest of the trip. In Megan’s case crying and sobbing.

I think it’s time I invested in a decent camera – but my dedication is not there, like you! I do so love windmills and these on the farm lands are really lovely! Enjoy your photoshoot! We going on Magalies Train on the 16th – I am looking forward to taking some piccies there (with my teeny tiny camera)!!!!
