We went to a kids birthday party at a theme park yesterday.  Lolapark is in Boksburg and I didn’t even know it existed before yesterday, but what a cool place it was! The kids had a ball.

The party was amazingly organised, but a bit of overkill.  There were 2 clowns organised for the kids who entertained them with magic and exercises for about an hour, which was silly considering there was so much for them to do in the park.  In the end, because of that, we didn’t to do half the stuff available in the park before we went home.  We missed the horse rides, and amazing water rides and a circus performance too!!  But what we did do was a LOT of fun.

It was a day of firsts too… Connor had his first encounter with a clown… which he didn’t like at all.  Then he went on a fairground ride for the first time and he LOVED it!!

After the fun ride, we decided to go on the train.  That went perfectly well until disaster struck… my kids cannot go anywhere without getting hurt!!

We were in the back car of the train – which is a tractor thingy with 2 cars. The windows had plastic sheeting that was closed so they were both standing at the doors looking out as we went along the little road.  Half way around the route, Bradley leans to hard against the door.  The door opens and he falls out.  The little road is narrow and has kerbing, so he didn’t roll away from the train.  His fingers and foot went under the wheel of the car!!!  My heart nearly stopped, and the damn train driver didn’t stop until I was screaming like a banshee!!

He climbed back into the train, and he seems to be fine.  His foot and fingers were sore for the rest of the day (definitely nothing broken though), and today the top of his leg is a bit sore… I think he either bruised it or something.  If his leg gets worse I’ll take him to the doctor – he’s been running around today though without any problems.

Thank God we were in the back car, and thank God he didn’t go further under the wheel!!

Anyhoo, after that saga, we went on the most massive truck inflatable.  How cool is this?  The kids climb into the cabin of the truck, and then up a rope ladder, through a hole and then slide down the back of it!  They loved it!

And then we went home, even though the circus performance was about to start.  I’d had enough!
