I’ve just got back from Camera Club – I slipped out before it finished because it was going to be a looong night.
We had to submit 6 images this month because of the debacle with the projector. I was aiming for 2 golds, so I’m quite happy with the results, but as I was listening to their comments about the others I got frustrated again. LOL, I clearly don’t take criticism very well 
. I haven’t actually ever posted some of these shots, so here goes…
Unanimous Gold – Playing to an Empty Street.
Unanimous Gold – Wet
Silver – Agapanthas – Apparently the white were blown.
Silver – Beautifully Pregnant – They didn’t like the DOF, it needed to be shallower, and they would have liked to have seen her eyes. LOL, I think they misunderstood the photo, it would not have had the same impact if she was looking at me.
Silver – Connor – They liked the angle, but they felt the photo was over-exposed. Well, ok then, but I actually made it lighter. Go figure.
Silver – Nature’s paint splodges – The back leaf should have been in focus too, because it’s distracting.
Saw your results in twitter! (I’m still learning how to work that thing!) These are awesome! Congrats!

Congrats on the golds! I always look forward to your camera club posts. Once again I don’t agree with their crit, and I agree with laura, they really don’t seem overexposed!! I love them all.

You do sound miffed about certain criticisms……..taking other people’s criticism is no easy feat……but when you put yourself in a situation such as that there are bound to be people who don’t see what you see……hopefully you are dishing out your thoughts with them as well!

Well done !! They see things through different eyes ..as I’ve said before. Maybe they wanted to see more face on preggy one, not open eyes as such, you know, hair pulled back a bit on one side (just a thought) !
ALL golds in my opinion – really love Bradley in water – so crystal clear with those water drops.

You don’t have to like the criticism, you just have to learn from it! (I flinch and grumble when my writing is critiqued). I agree with their calls on the Agapanthus and Conner — lightening the photo took some of the depth out of it.

Love all of it. . . don’t take their criticisms to heart. . . Re: Beautifully pregnant, maybe they meant her hair should have been tucked behind her ear so you can see her smile and eyes. But it’s still a lovely shot! And well done on your 2 golds, Take care
Congrats on your two golds. I’m very much like you. I just don’t take critisism very well. Looking at their comments it seems to me that they are just looking for things to critisise. Also it seems that it is their opinions and they don’t take into consideration what the photographer meant with a pic. Nothing wrong with the silvers. They sould have been golds as well.
