I did my first Maternity photo shoot on Sunday, and I can’t resist posting this one again. It’s definitely my week’s winner!
Remember the photo the other day, where Connor was offering my sister and her friend his ice lolly? Well, this is what happened 5 minutes before that…
And the rest were taken at home yesterday. My brother and his wife came for a braai (BBQ) and I spent the day helping him with Photoshop (he’s also a photographer).

I cannot tell you how happy I am that Telkom was fast. They fixed our home phone line this morning… on a Sunday
I went on a course this week. The training company’s offices were in Sunninghill and the tea station was on the roof with the most magnificent views of the city. This photo does not really do the view justice, but I’m going back next week (for another course) and I’m going to try and take a panoramic shot with my wide-angle lens.
In the distance on the horizon on the left is Johannesburg city, and the closer tall buildings on the right are in Sandton. You can also see the dark rain clouds approaching from the left, there was gorgeous rain later that day.

I’m going to be scarce for the next few days. Our lines at home are not working, so I’m internetless!! Not actually sure how I’m going to cope actually
I finally got the Gold I was looking for at Camera Club last night, so now I’ve progressed to 2 Star. Finally!!
I’m not that happy with some of the judges comments again, but anyhoo… I’ve decided that from next month I’m submitting primarily people photos. It’ll be much easier for me to get good scores with people photos. I’ll carry on going for now, but seriously, if I carry on stressing about my choices, I’m going to have to quit – it’s really not worth all that stress.
Unanimous Silver – Basically, they thought that Sonja should have been in focus. They didn’t get the point of the photo, I’ve got one with her in focus, but I liked this one better.
Silver – The flower wasn’t dead enough! And that made it boring. Go figure! However, they liked the DoF. They didn’t fault the exposure or the sharpness, which makes me a bit mad considering that you’re supposed to be judged primarily on sharpness and exposure in 1 Star.
Unanimous Gold – YAY!
And next month I have to find 6 images to submit! The club finally decided that the projector was in fact the cause of all the problems, and because everyone has complained so much, the E-photography members can submit 3 extra photos next month to make up for it.
I was trying to take photos of the Elaine and Robin’s legs, but Connor wanted to be the centre of attention yesterday.
Surprise surprise, Connor let me take photos of him today!
And before you think that he’s been in the wars again… it was a koki pen (and left over lunch)! He was covered in paint and pen by the end of today.
