This is one of my favourite shots from yesterday. Yes, I’m still busy proofing all the photos, so Elaine, you’re going to have to wait until the weekend to get the CD
See more Love Thursday posts on Shutter Sisters.
I took Elaine and Bryan to a ruin that I found in Muldersdrift today for some photos, as a practise shoot. We had loads of fun exploring the old house, and we ended up really filthy.
What I learnt today…
1. Wear closed shoes when doing a photo shoot in the veld.
2. Use a smaller lens. I should have stuck to the 18-55mm lens or the 50mm lens rather than trying to be clever, because it was late afternoon and the quality of the shots weren’t brilliant with the big zoom.
3. Learn more about poses. LOL, they kept asking me what they should do, and I was just blank!! LOL! I should have been more prepared. I’ve read lots of stuff re poses etc, but I should have read them again.

Connor is loving all the flowers in my mom’s garden at the moment, and this evening he was picking all sorts of flowers for my dad to smell. And Connor’s t-shirt is perfect for Ruby Tuesday!
And don’t you just love the soft effect? I was playing around with free Photoshop actions that I got from the Coffeeshop Photography blog. I used the Creamy Toffee Latte action – I just love the names!

Taken in my mom’s garden this evening. I quite like this in B&W.

Oooh, and check out my article on the Photo Bliss channel on Blissfully Domestic. I’m actually learning so much from the other photographic contributors on the magazine site!
I’ve gone a bit overboard today
Last Sunday, we went to the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve. I’ve posted a few other photos this week, so if you want to see more then just scroll through this week’s posts.

I took the boys to the Walter Sisulu gardens yesterday afternoon to look for a strip of veld (grassland) for a couple photoshoot that I want to do with my sister. We had such fun, so I couldn’t resist showing you these too.
A few weeks ago, a friend asked me to take some photos of the new green shoots growing out of the burnt veld, because that is one thing that she misses seeing now that she lives in the US, so Nats… here it is…

And this is my favourite shot of the afternoon. I found my strip of veld!
Where can we go now?

And if, after all those photos, you want to see more, then check out links to more Weekly Winners bloggers on Lotus’ blog. Oooh, and one of my photos is featured on the Photo Bliss post too!
