Today’s was Bradley’s first ever school sports day… the first of many. I know I moaned on my other blog about the school not giving much warning about today’s sports day, but I managed to make a plan, and I was there!
It was so sweet! They only do ‘proper’ races from next year, as he’s still in Grade 00, but the school involved every year in their sports day. For his age group, the kids just had to do a class relay race. The whole class stood in a row, and the first kid had a bean bag. That kid ran and then passed the bean bag to the next kid when he got back to the line. The class that went the fastest won.
And they all had such fun! And so did the parents. LOL! I was so busy cheering Bradley on when it was his turn, that I didn’t get a photo of him running towards me!! I’ve only got a photo of the back of him
It’s crazy! I’ve got photos of all his friends from the front! LOL! Oh well, at least I (and Lance and Connor) was there to cheer him on… it meant the world to him. He had such a big smile on his face when he saw us there.
PS. While you’re looking at my other blog, please read the story about Ivy and sign the petition!!!

It’s a great shot of him running away though! I’m glad you got to go and see it. Working full time I miss so many of my kids sporting events it makes me a little sad some days. Glad you both had lots of fun.
A winner!! (proud granny!)
I agree, it is a fantastic shot!

Pity about not getting the front photo. At least you were there. To him it is more important than a photo.

Sports day sounds like fun. I’m glad you could be there. I missed my son’s first school program and felt like a horrible mother for weeks! Good save.

Don’t worry, I have SO many photos of other kids scoring tries and almost none of Quintus. The excitement is just too big

The photo of Bradley running took me back to my own school days. For a moment I could feel what he was feeling – even smell how the air smelt back then.
Now THAT is what a photo is meant to do to you!
