Skywatch Friday – Broken windmills and blue skies

Broken windmill

Taken in the middle of Fourways north of Jo’burg. As for the sky… it was a typical winter’s day in Gauteng today.

Hi Jenty, I like this shot – especially the way it is silhouetted against the blue sky. But it is a sad aold windmill

Amy-Happy Momma - May 31, 2008 - 3:26 am

Jenty,

Great photo! I took a brief tour through your photos of the year and really enjoyed myself.

Thank you for visiting our blog and be sure to check back this coming Wednesday. (My oldest daughter took the picture today – it is great!)

All the best on finishing your photographic year- U R doing Great!

Pat - An Arkansas Stamper - May 31, 2008 - 12:30 am

Great Sky watch photo. I’ve always been fond of windmills, and what they represented (life-giving water) but I don’t see them very often now.

Jennifer Robin - May 31, 2008 - 12:25 am

Nice composition!

Daniel J Santos - May 31, 2008 - 12:23 am

Excellent perspective

Killlashandra - May 30, 2008 - 11:10 pm

Sometimes I think the windmills around me will all be broken soon. One of the cattle ranches in southern New Mexico just lost all it’s water and they’re selling out. More broken windmills on the way.

Abraham Lincoln - May 30, 2008 - 10:02 pm

I like to see the old windmills because they were all working when I was younger and everyone had one or two. Now, around here where I live, I seldom even see a broken one. So your post is filled with memories for me.

Carole - May 30, 2008 - 9:53 pm

A broken windmill is better than none at all. Very nice picture.
